Gen 3... 265 vs 285. Help me decide

saggy old springs... But that wheel offset looks outboard more than stock. I never rubbed on my stock springs and stock wheels 265/75R17 back a few years ago (maybe 7?) when I was running that size on the '05

Suitable trailer for small travel trailer build

Curious as to when the 45 mph statement was applied. I have one of the HF 40" x 48" trailers (steel version) that I've had about 10 years. Don't recall it was advertised that way when I bought it. Its been drug along at 75 mph all over the place...

    Buying my First FJ80 LandCruiser.

Rust sucks... how is the frame? What area of the country was this driven most of its life? Don't surprise yourself, had to flatbed tow one of my trucks home a few years ago due to a minor breakdown but no parts available in the area, about 120 miles (interstate highway) not in the middle of...

    Buying my First FJ80 LandCruiser.

I daily drove 25 year + old trucks for years, however always had a backup. My commute is short, only around 4 miles. I would never recommend it as an only vehicle that needs to be relied upon. If you absolutely need to use the vehicle for work and during work you should be leasing something...

    extrusions

2020 might be a little small. I'm using 8020 series 10 across a 48" unsupported span on 12" centers to support my mattress (2 adults max). The website 8020.net has the deflection calculations for all of their profiles, so you could do the engineering. As a note, I'm strictly using generic...

Gen 3... 265 vs 285. Help me decide

After running both 285/75R16 and 265/75R17 on mine, I agree that the 265 are the best size for a Gen 3. Once my 285s wear out, I'll go back to 265s.
