Cheaper than the the full sized rigs. Buddy bought a F150 2.7 4x4 4dr in August. Said he went around and around with 5 dealers he still paid over 40k and its sorta mid range regarding options. So a fairly loaded midsized with the costly engine choice just shy or just breaking 40k seems cheaper...
Modern twist on the old lightweight trail bikes? Not a bad idea. Plenty of folks out there looking for light bikes to toss on a hitch behind the camper or rv.
GM does offer a WT range with the Colorado/canyon. I actually fooled with the online build tool last night. Some how my Canyon Diesel came out cheaper than my Colorado diesel. Its possible per the site to set up a fairly well equipped diesel canyon 4x4 and be in the same price range as my wifes...
I've had several Toyotas non of them hit 200k without a fairly large outlay of cash to fix stuff. The one domestic in the family pushing 280,000 miles has had nothing but basics, but since about 250,000 it stays in town, everything is equally worn out. You wont find very many people doing big...
Having owned three yotas the past 10yrs and a 2016 Ford with yota hybrid gear I qualify as a fan boy, but like what I see other brands doing the Colorado is a nice machine to drive, not everyone needs a jeep with a pickup bed aka Taco.
Agreed. Toyota didn't invest much in the refresh. The taco has just been printing cash for them for yrs with minimal design effort. I give GM and now Ford some cred for putting some effort into a modern platform.
At home it stays in the garage. When its at home not in the garage its wedged in by the cars. When on the move its locked to the hitch. In camp its set up and not easily going anywhere fast and hitch is locked. If I had to store it on the street? Both tires would be removed and hitch locked up.
Lol thinking the same thing. Hell I've never even owned a GM product 914runner, 93 Landcruiser and my current 07 Sequoia. I'm over the whole this brand is better than that brand BS. Get what you want. But please stop thinking Toyota sprinkles magical dust on their vehicles that some how makes...
$800 delivered falls into the hitch gate tire carrier. If your in LA you can save on shipping costs. I like mine. Simple set up I would toss it on the LC for long trips. Rattle free set up its pretty good kit for the money. A full on custom bumper was $1200 and up. I didnt wantvto spend that...
Again disc is superior to drum regarding loads and trying to slow and stop under real world use, not track tests. How about doing a comparison coming down pikes peak? Track testing is just basic data everyone knows discs shed heat far better than drums. Besides who on this forum drives a stock...
Full frame vehicles have advantages. For hauling loads and bolting heavy stuff on the ends the full frame design is superior to Unibody. No need to hang heavy stuff off the ends? No need to put 1500lbs over the rear axle? The unibody works great but has strength limitations for truck type uses...
I think load performance has more to do with peoples interest in disc brakes than empty brake test runs. As for the unibody suggestion. No idea what to say except that everyone has the ability to an oppinion. One thing for sure its hard to build a unibody platform strong enough to get 7000lb tow...
I wouldn't be affraid of the CVT. Its done very well. I was not a cvt guy at all, but the 2010 and newer mt had too many limitations, throttle nanny on the suggestion pedal and from experience having lived with a 5pd mt for 180,000 miles lacking lower gearing I caved and got the cvt. Today after...
2012 was the last yr before the new engine family using the tech that has a higher chance of oil use. Not 09 and earlier. The 3.6 is the oldest in the line up now and is not affected by this lowfriction / rings oil use issue that seems to be an issue for several Auto makers not just Subaru.
Just keep in mind the forester sits on the impreza platform it has a much lower load rating than the OB. With kids and road trips get the OB for the bigger load hauling ability or you'll be kicking your self later.
