    Tales of the Grey Mouser...

Mark, if and when you do get some bed plans done-keep me in mind for sending a set too. I am not a woodworker so need an idiot proof set. Many thanks. Compliments to a well built rig that is not overdone with high dollar "stuff". I am pretty handy with metal and welding, thinking of a...

    Winter Pop-up Camper tips...

One tip for the cold temps on the propane tank is to duct tape a hand warmer or foot warmer to the tank. You can also wrap it with a blanket or other insulation. Seem to remember that it was not too bad until it got below about -05 or colder.

    Winter Pop-up Camper tips...

Keep in mind that in below zero temps your propane may not function well. You might have to come up with a way to warm the tank. We had some propane tanks on the Greenland icecap that had insulated covers that helped. Just something to think about beforehand.

    102 cb antenna??

The guy who got hit in the face was spotting a Jeep on a washout, standing in front of the rig. My hat was taken off when I pulled up and stopped on a trail ride, got out and the antennae on the rig in front of me got me. I disagree on the comment about being too close. Yes, I have heard the I...

    102 cb antenna??

I hate them. I have had my ball cap removed from my head with the end of one flaying around on a trail ride. Way too close. There was a member of a Las Vegas Jeep club years ago that had one that hit him in the face. I was the one that transported him to the ER for 18 stitches. The examples...

    Idaho August 2010

The Silver City Hotel is still in use from May 31 to around Oct. You can rent a room for the night there or eat. No electricity. They serve some of the best home made pies there, cooked on a wood stove. Area is not accessable during winter.

    90 XJ planning stage

You are going to have a hard time doing all you want in one rig. You want to crawl, do rocks, drive highway legally, and tow; all with extreme dependability. I have been in that situation several times and the answers are not easy (or cheap). Usually involves two vehicles, or altering my...

    Lets talk chili...

For many years I have used this recipe from a Marlboro cookbook as a base. Pretty decent chili, mild and not spicy. http://recipeland.com/recipe/v/Headquarters-Chili--Marlboro-26042

Good size for a "small" air tank?

I would rethink the notion of running air tools with that small compressor. It takes alot of air to run them for more than a brief moment. I have an $800 12v compressor from commercial use that barely will run an impact for 5 lug nuts with a 2.5 gal tank. I recommend a 12v impact gun if you...

    Batteries

I used to have great luck with Optima's but in the last 4 years the quality is just not there. I rarely get over two years service out of any battery, of any price. I am to the point that when they get to two years age I plan on replacing them anyway. They then go to someone with a forklift...
