How is this for a power system? Solar vs battery balance?

Hi all again - 7 months later. :) So we are finally about to place our order for our 9.5 foot long Hallmark pop up truck camper. How is this for a (revised) power system? * * in terms of amount of solar panel WATTS specifically. * * I want to make sure i have enough solar panel power. The...

F-350 360 degree camera system question (custom ordered 2020)

Hey Jspeers89 Pardon my ignorance - so does it mean that you can turn it on when in FWD? Meaning if you are doing a front moving turn (say, in a parking lot) you can somehow turn on the 360 cameras ... while moving forward, and see if your 'nose' is clear of the turn.... avoiding the thing you...

F-350 360 degree camera system question (custom ordered 2020)

F-350 360 degree camera system question (custom ordered 2020) I’m about to custom order a 2020 Lariat F350 - crew cab, 8’ bed. We will *never* tow. We hate towing. We also keep our vehicles for a really long time, so resale isn’t really an issue. There will always be a 9.5’ pop up truck...

What gears if go Gas full size truck...vs diesel

I'm certainly no expert, but I would not say that the new 7.3 L gasser has "diesel pulling power" at least compared to a current diesel Ford 6.7L that produces 450 hp and 935 lb.-ft. of torque.... and to me the torque is what matters most for power. The current 6.2L V8 produces 385 HP and 430...

    ?’s about options on a custom order 2020 Ford F-350 6.2L gasser

to clarify - we will never ever be towing a 5th wheel, as stated in my original post. And perhaps I was told incorrect information - but two ford truck salespeople from two separate dealers told me that all running boards sold by Ford are mostly made of steel. The DeeZee aluminum ones look...

How are Novacool fridges? w/ Danfoss compressor / RFS7501

Sorry to hear of your not ideal experiences May I ask - how many watts solar do you have? how many amp hours of battery do you have? meet cells, AGM, or Lithium? And what time of year, what weather, and what location? In terms of angle of sun, length of day, and shade vs clear I ask only...

yup going to get the electronic locking rear end. 4:30 ratio and as we are saving $$$$$ by goi g thru a broker - And the dealer delivers it to our home, and we sign paperwork there (so awesome. Zero hassle) thus the dealer won’t throw anything in, for sure. cool to know about volume sensing...

the good news is that I can (and will) order the extra extra heavy duty alternator so that takes care of that. And as valid as all your reasons are for maybe getting the plow package - for obscure reasons I won’t bother getting into - we won’t. Thanks anyway tho. ?

    ?’s about options on a custom order 2020 Ford F-350 6.2L gasser

Quite a few people have advised me to *not* get the snow plow package (nor the combo plow/camper package) as when you do the plow upgrade, it makes the front springs a lot more stiff, and that has a negative impact on the ride quality. As I will never plow snow, i will 100% avoid the plow...

That “Godzilla” (Ford 7.3L Gas V-8) gasser is coming in 2020 - and we are getting a 2020 But many have advised me to stick with the tried and true 6.2 L v8 gasser. I think I will. the current 6.2L V8 produces 385 HP and 430 lb.-ft. of torque, and the new 7.3L V8 produces 430 HP and 475...

Hi there Hopeless Diamond - thanks for all the good thoughts. :) I'm so glad you mentioned possible glare from the cab-over-bed on the truck camper - over the optional marker lights - yes this is a strong possibility, and it would bug me likely. Hmmmmm I have to rethink the clearance...

    ?’s about options on a custom order 2020 Ford F-350 6.2L gasser

hi AbleGuy as our tailgate will be removed permanently ... it is my understanding that there is a connector under the truck somewhere - and for maybe about $150 I can buy a camera, wire and plug - 3rd party- and simply plug in this camera and mount it on the rear of the trailer. Simple and...

?’s about options on a custom order 2020 Ford F-350 6.2L gasser I have a couple questions (below) but for clarity - the truck we are about to order (for our forthcoming, always mounted pop-up truck camper) is listed at the very bottom. Truma? / what is a hard side camper like to drive? (cross winds, handling on highways)

p.p.s whatever we get (even a pop up) it'll be too tall to garage.... and it will be in midwest (!) so the strongest roof possible is key. and yes i'll have to manage the snow load on the roof. Ug.

Truma? / what is a hard side camper like to drive? (cross winds, handling on highways)

Hi all Plan is to get a 2020 8’ bed Ford F-350 Crew Cab - and always keep a new camper (yet to buy) mounted. (Quick overnight camping trips, 4 seasons! plus longer trips too) I don’t drive much at all, and our family will have a 2nd regular car. I had planned on a Hallmark 9.5’ pop up (wet...
