    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

Metal Masher- Pretty easy, you can bypass all the really hard optional stuff. Golden Spike- REALLY long....all day and then some for most groups. You can't bypass some stuff. It's decently challenging. It is also pretty remote in the middle if you have issue without any way to get out early...

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

During EJS....or at a different time?

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

On a cautionary note..... EJS can be a mad house. It has been getting more manageable, but remember this is a HUGE event. Town is just about packed to capacity. Plan more time for everything accordingly. Also be aware of the party type people at campgrounds, hotels, and on the trails. I have...

Rumor of Synthetic Winch Rope Issues in Cold Weather?

Zero issues cold weather issues over the decade I have been using it.

    Easter Jeep Safari 2015?

There are only a few trails that the EJS event has exclusive use permits for.... They are marked with blue boxes on that chart. These are Behind the Rocks, Gold Bar Rim, Golden Spike, Moab Rim, Poison Spider Mesa, and Pritchett Canyon. These trails are only closed to non-event use on the days...

How much weight is TOO much weight?

Thank you. It has been a really fun project. You can read more about it here... http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/58343-Rango-1942-Willys-MB http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-willys/1000503-rango-1942-willys-mb.html

How much weight is TOO much weight?

It can be a tough balance, but I think there has to be a happy medium. I try and go on the light side because I like simple and minimalism. I like showing people an opposite viewpoint of how you can do things in this hobby.

    Project: Doitall Dodge

It does have A/C, but it isn't functioning. I would suspect that the lines need to be replaced and the system charged. I'm not against going to a heater only unit...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

Some details here... http://www.fourwheeler.com/project-vehicles/1412-1990-dodge-truck-ultimate-tug-part-6/ I wonder if there is an older cable drive heater unit that would fit under the 92ish dash? I hate to add an electric vacuum pump just for the heater box....

    Rango.....1942 Willys MB

Runs great. I drove it over 3000 miles for that event so everything is nice and broke in now!

Yup, especially on the Day 1 of the UA trip and only 1000 miles on the engine and a 1000 miles from home!

yup, fun trip. Sometimes you just have to know your limits. When the water starts hitting the windshield it's just too much. Everyone took the strap or a winch at some point, my kryptonite was really deep water. Sometimes being small pays off, sometimes it doesn't....

Tube crawler style buggy and Rtt thoughts.

How much money do you want to spend :) Speaking from some experience after doing some multi-thousand mile trips in an open top vehicle AND wheeling the crap out of it. -Your going to want a windshield, a glass one, with wipers, and defrost. -Having an open top isn't THAT much fun after two...

How much weight is TOO much weight?

I try and think about it like a 4-wheel motorcycle.... Here is what it looked like for my 2000 mile 13+ day trip.... The car was just about 3600-3700lbs completely loaded with me, gear, and 15 gallons of extra fuel. Here is what it looked like packed up for the 2014 Ultimate Adventure 13...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

I missed this one over the holidays. Basically my truck really isn't even worth as much as the front axle in the Tug Truck :sombrero: It's in an entirely different class...... -I liked the Tug's power steering pump conversion. If I could find a simple way to drive my vacuum HVAC stuff I would...

Thanks. Lots of things I could do....but it's winter....and it's my daily driver still. Maybe someday I will give it another good once over.

    Project: Doitall Dodge

Nothing much new.... I did have to replace the seals in the vacuum pump a few weeks ago.....so exciting. I just keep driving it....it keeps running. There are lots of little things that I could fix, a few that I should fix, but it December!

    Rango.....1942 Willys MB

No big changes post trip.....well other than my radiator had a cracked tube that developed after the trip so I had to replace that. I think it was damaged in shipping and finally gave out after the trip. Other than that it just got a little clean out, some new seat belts, and a few misc things...

    Rango.....1942 Willys MB

The water got deeper! That is why I was on a rope on the way back. After 50+ vehicles worth of traffic the sandy bottom was only washing away more making it deeper. The hood on the flat fender is about 42.5" tall....

    Long Jeep.....chasing unicorns

Yup, read that one more than once. Going on UA this year in the flat fender really gave me some perspective on where I think I am going in this sport, what you need, what you don't need, etc. In the end I decided to build this.... Which is my version of this.... It is basically a 'buggy'...
