WTT: Howlingmoon Stargazer 1.6 for trailer based roof tent

I'm moving my RTT from the roof of my 100 series to my trailer, and am looking to see if anyone is interested in trading their trailer specific roof tent for my Howlingmoon. By trailer specific tents, I mean something designed like the EZ-Awn Globe Tracker...

Regular RTT vs. Trailer specific RTT

What are the pros. and cons of a trailer specific RTT vs.a regular ol RTT. I currently have a Howlingmoon 1.6 Stargazer with awning. I'm thinking of switching to a trailer based rtt due to not having to build a lift system to use the awning and the tent ones seem to be a little bigger. My other...

Black Rat 3500# hand winch and a heavy vehicle

I found a used Black Rat 3500# hand winch for sale on line. Even with shipping, I can get it pretty cheap. My current vehicle is a 100 Series Cruiser. I know I can use snatch blocks to double the pull strength on the hand winch. I would use it on certain situations on my 100 series, and to move...

Battery operated impact driver vs. pneumatic

I run the old Ryobi 1/2" impact from Home Depot. The stuff is cheap, the batteries are cheap, and the extended warranty is cheap. They even have a 12v charger.

    2017 4runner v 2017 Landcruiser

Lets not bring facts into this. Posting facts doesn't make you seem as ************ when posting a video of a (most likely) mechanical diesel LC driving through a river to tell everyone why your decision on vehicles is the correct one.

    Fabricators, please step inside

I'm thinking of using some square tubing (maybe 1 1/4"?) with heim joints on either end. One to connect to the rtt frame and one to connect to the trailer body. I would have to build some sort of stop on the trailer to prevent the arms from moving past 90 degrees. Would this be strong enough? I...

    Fabricators, please step inside

So I am working on my utility trailer project, and am trying to devise of a cheap way to raise and lower my RTT on my trailer. I only need it to go up 18" or so. I've seen all the actuators and other fancy stuff, but I'm not sure I really want to go that way. What I was thinking was building a...

Mounting options for a water tank to a trailer?

I'm thinking of welding a few tabs to the frame and using fuel tank straps so I can mount it under the bed of the trailer? Good idea? What else have you guys done?

    Off-road limitations of a 2" ball coupler?

I can swap out between a 2" ball and lunette ring. It will also allow me to easily adjust the height if I use my wifes stock 4runner to tow it vs my lifted 100 series.
