    Lucky 8’s Project P38

Reading comp is usually ace :-P (though I do tend to miss bits and pieces now and again due to skimming too quickly). In this case I think I didn't miss anything. GL4x4, if you go back a page and read post #409 you'll see that I quoted your post - and it wasn't the one on the rods n block. I...

    Lucky 8’s Project P38

This is exactly what Justin was doing in this post? Your post sounds like: "this is what you need to do".

    Lucky 8’s Project P38

Now that would depend where the air intake was, wouldn't it? :-p Hate to say it Justin, but there might have been a wee bit of operator err.. overzealousness? :-)) You want me to send you a DSE motor?

    RRC- EAS or Coils?

You'll want to check O-rings at all the collet connections (valve block, air springs, etc) as well. A spray bottle of soapy water is your friend...

We took a little trip in our P38...

TBH, mine is on its second motor, second trans, 3rd set of air bags, and many other miscellaneous bits and pieces that have been replaced at least once. Despite it keeping me busy before we left, it's quite a solid car and it has never let me down to the point where I couldn't get back home...

diesel hybrid powertrain coming to Range Rover

That's funny. The discussions on the European boards are nearly always quite to the opposite - the majority argue that a gasoline V8 is much more befitting to the luxurious character of a RR. I prefer the diesel due to the fact that our RRs are the family transportation. ~20% better mileage and...

We took a little trip in our P38...

...and spent 2 weeks in the Peloponnese, Greece. Had a great time - hit several of the bigger archaeological sites, numerous trails, and several beaches on the way. The P38 lived up to its reputation. Before we left: - the exhaust rusted through over the rear axle. No change in exhaust note but...

Discovery 2 AC compressor clutch meltdown.

I'm a huge fan of used parts, but in this case I'd prob go with a new unit from a pattern parts supplier. The prob is that you'll need to have the refrigerant discharged before you replace the compressor and recharged afterwards. No idea what that costs in the US these days, but here in Europe...

diesel hybrid powertrain coming to Range Rover

What makes you think that? For the average consumer there is next to no advantage in owning a diesel - the small fuel savings aside. If LR were to price a diesel that high it would Edsel. If you look at the LR lineup in Europe, all of the entry models are powered by diesels. This does have a...

A Series 2 that defies physics....

I vaguely remember something like this from a while back... Isn't this on a Beetle floor pan? Which is why he has the palette on the back covering the motor? Fixed it for you :p

    L322 details

There wasn't a need to upgrade the drive train in general - the issue was simply a poor design on the front dirveshaft and diff coupling. This was redesigned and the older vehicles got the later design installed as part of a recall. The only time you need to worry about this issue is if you are...

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

Hi Zecko, Britpart is based in Europe but sells worldwide. Any Britpart dealer can sell you an IIDTool (Locate a dealer) but, as Dmarchand said, Lucky 8 LLC has them (or will have in the case of the D4). Please PM me the name you used to submit an inquiry on our site so that I can check what...

The Re-designed 2014 Range Rover Sport

Look at the vertical door gaps. Those aren't rockers, they're door-bottom-covers. Rock damage=new door. Same as the L405.

LR3 does NOT = mall crawler.

This is exactly what got me into Rovers. I'd always wanted a MB G and had driven various different G's several weeks at a time - albeit 20 yrs ago... Then I met a chick who's father was into RR's. We took his RRC to southern France and did some light off-roading. I then realized you could have...

    Project L322 ???? Yay or Nay ?

Hi Jon, As long as you are not going out of the physical range of travel of the height sensors you could have left them where they were. The 2002-05 L322 has no internal limits in the EAS ECU (in contrast to 2006> where you have a max. calibration range of around 100mm before the ECU throws a...

    Reputable vendors for LR4 accessories

One reason that you won't find an LR4 IIDTool on the Lucky8 website is because we have not yet released it yet. The users that have units are all beta testers :-p
