DURAMAX Fuso FG!! - the new option?!

The 6.6L V8 isn't that much larger than the aforementioned 6.0L V8 gas engine. While this isn't the engine that came out of the FG, I believe it is the engine referenced by gator70 and the portion of the truck to which I believe he was referring when he used the words, 'All Stock', not the axles...

Dura Fuso? Fuso Max?... Major 2.0 drive train update to an iconic build

To aid those who may be interested in searching for, or following this build, you may wish to change 6.6L Durand to 6.6L Duramax and change Dayna Super 60 to Dana Super 60. Interested to see how this comes out. Fat Boys, a.k.a. Super 60s are rated at 7k, if memory serves me correctly. So...

DURAMAX Fuso FG!! - the new option?!

^^ No, it isn't. You bolting a 6.2 liter LS3 into a Fuso, a Mustang or a Honda Civic and Isuzu bolting that engine into an NPR are quite similar in nature. With the after market support that is available for LS-family engines, GM/Duramax and Dodge/Cummins diesel engines, I would contend that...

Megatron - New turnkey expedition vehicle from Supertramp, Elevation Off Grid (EOG) and Liquid Spring

TruckHouse excelled at bringing trucks to shows and producing absolutely bupkus in the form of a production-ready or delivered-to-customer vehicle. Hopefully these guys get their kit together, but this isn't the best market to launch high-dollar shiny objects in. Look around for used toyhaulers...

    Isuzu npr 4wd

There is no reason for them to touch the ground, as your first step is easily 8" - 12" / 200mm - 300mm above it. Built properly, folding and floating steps are quite stable and easy to use.

    Airbag Air suspension

That is how the Yanks measure articulation as well. As I have never heard of 24" of wheel travel on an NPR/NPS, I thought the Aussies may use a different standard. Thanks for the clarification.

    Airbag Air suspension

Do you mean that the distance from the top of the tire when stuffed into the fender well to the top of that tire when it's drooped as far as it will go, is 600 mm? That is nearly 24" of wheel travel which is quite impressive if the airbags are still fitted to the truck and allow this much travel.

DURAMAX Fuso FG!! - the new option?!

The 2.8 Cummins is Chinese garbage. They are quite expensive to buy, install and integrate with COTS driveline components, on the order of 25 - 30k, if done right, based on my research. The Duramax V8 is a rather large engine, about 32" - 33" cubed. That said, a 6.0L LS-based V8 fits into USDM...

    Airbag Air suspension

The Isuzu NPR built by Angry Iron for NeverQuit Overland had air bags for load leveling in the rear. The third truck, and last truck built by that shop had air bag leveling on all four corners.

    Isuzu npr 4wd

A Monster Valve Power Tank will fill a 37X12.50R17 tire from 15 PSI to 60 PSI in under 60 seconds. Unless you need to air up and air down on a regular basis, CO2 is the way to go. There aren't any under-hood or small/portable air compressors that will outflow a PowerTank. 12V/24V air...

    Isuzu npr 4wd

Don't add up the money you spent; you will cry. Building a custom car, truck, rock crawling buggy, mountain bike or fishing boat makes absolutely no sense, fiscally. That said, if you want your work and investment protected, you would be well served to find someone willing to give you a stated...

Feeler: DIY / Custom Sandwich Panel Boxes

All sandwich panels share the same basic design. There is a thin skin, usually aluminum, fiberglass or carbon fiber on each side of a lightweight core material such as Nomex, Divinycell or even wood, though the latter isn't advisable. This foam core isn't very strong on it's own, after all...

Feeler: DIY / Custom Sandwich Panel Boxes

Yes, thin aluminum dents and dings easily and is difficult to transport and work with during assembly. Using 0.060" or 0.120" does add weight, but that is, after all, the design brief, a bulletproof panel. Of course I could make a lighter panel... I could buy Nomex honeycomb and vacuum infuse...

Feeler: DIY / Custom Sandwich Panel Boxes

About ten years ago, I built a 12' x 7' x 7' box with a friend of mine and sold it to a customer. That box is currently DIRECTLY mounted on an LMTV and has been from Baja to the Arctic Circle. It is presently being used as a chase/support truck for an outfitter located on the West coast of the...

Mastercraft Safety, Triple X (Phoenix) or another high-quality suspension seat, as used in desert racing applications. (Baja 1000 type stuff) There, the driver takes a beating for hours over very rough terrain. Custom seats with 'poured' foam are also an option, but are quite expensive. Years...

2002 MITSUBISHI FUSO OVERLANDER FOR SALE

This is a cool truck. I would have gotten a smaller dog and kept it, lol. It is certainly more reliable and simpler than the newer, Daimler-built Fusos with the awful DCT and no transfer case. GLWS

    No Longer for Sale

This is one of the coolest vans I have seen. What is the length of the box? Did it just replace the OEM van body?
