Thanks @Dave in AZ for the input. With Prime Days here’s what I ordered today
100Ah Mini
I figure I can’t go wrong at that price… unless it burns down my rig.
Does anyone have any real world experience with these smaller form factor batteries as a house battery for a smaller fridge? I put a 27f X2Power AGM (92ah, 190 reserve) in my 2006 UZJ100 and it has been rock solid as a single battery system operating my ARB Classic 50l for the last 3 years...
@Rube2K6 thanks. It is interesting that the are two parts numbers I was given, RS999120 and RS999113. I guess I need to pull mine off and take some measurements. This is a Chaser with what I think is Gen 1 TASS.
Bronsons’ wheel adapter/spacer to match the 4.5x5 brake drum to the 5x150 OEM Toyota wheels. Tire size is 265/70 R18 at the moment and were previously on the 100.
Spacer is 2.5” thick to compensate for the drastic difference between the dished Mickey Thompsons to the +60 offset on the Toyota...
Anyone else a “rigs and coffee” sort of guy?
The local REI hosts Rigs and Coffee the 2nd Saturday each month. I stopped by to help a friend set up his ARB awning with awning room for the first time.
1. Flat floor tent with what can be a great mattress
2. No need to burden the tow vehicle with so much weight on the roof or otherwise packed into the vehicle, especially if the tow vehicle is also a daily driver
3. Can pack during the week to just hook up and go.
4. Ability to claim a...
Spent some long overdue time cleaning up and updating the electrical in the tongue box. The previous set up was 100% functional but did not allow for expansion or a way to isolate the battery from the system if need be. All loads were directly connected to the battery with inline fuses and...
Ordered a set of hub centric adapters from Bronsons @ www.customwheeladapters.com
For reference, my trailer is set up with 5 on 4.5 5 lug hubs with 12 - 20 lugs. The adapter will go 5x4.5 to 5x150 and 2.5" thick to match the 60mm offset Sequoia wheels. Center bore is 74MM internal to 110MM...
FWIW, I’d focus more on length than width (middle school jokes, aside) as the stock m100/416 is very sensitive to loading and balance. Clrussell has an extended tongue and it looks equal in length to NaterXJ6 Chaser trailer (I have a Chaser as well).
I’ve had both; a 1966 M416 and a 2006...
@spikemd Drifta makes a set of IGT legs that are adjustable. I have them but can never find them on his website. I use them because I can level the table this way.
@Tex68w I recall @Scott Brady dragging one through the Arctic Circle behind his Tacoma and I wanted one so badly. But money was tight and I built Homer instead. It served us well and now has gone to a new owner that is giving it some real love again.
Just returned from MOORE in Springfield...
Maybe Mud is a better place to post this up, but had the OEM windscreen replaced today. I picked up a stone from a log truck during our Canada trip and the crack had now migrated more than a third of the way across from the passenger side.
OEM windscreen out showed very little corrosion and...
