    Another LR3 tire question

They aren't for everyone but I've read good reports by users of the Nokian Rotiva too. 275/65x18. Looks pretty much like their version of a tough E load AT tire.

    RR v. LR differences?

I keep forgetting you were using an 80 LC, not a jeep, sorry about that. However, if you have trouble driving the 80 for more than 60 miles....then maybe the problem is you and not the vehicle ;)

    RR v. LR differences?

I like hearing you sensibly stick with the D2 for now. However, I don't like seeing posted " 2" lifted LR3/4 L322 " because to picky about it, there is no such thing. None of the aftermarket stuff results in a higher maximum height. Therefor it is not a "lift". Whether it's rods or...

    RR v. LR differences?

1-"trimming of shields" ? There's only one "shield" in the spare area and it unbolts easily in a few minutes. Did you do a custom cut of only what was making contact? You should post a photo of that! 2-tire-hitch fit? Really? Within the first month in 2007 upon purchase, I installed the...

    Another LR3 tire question

    a. yes, it's true. Same goes for other AWD cars like an Audi Quattro or BMW xdrive, etc. Worse yet, some awd cars cannot have but a few % difference front to rear. If you spend a few minutes thinking about what happens when a tire on one side is larger than the other, while you try to drive...

    Another LR3 tire question

Yes, you are basically out of luck. I bet there isn't a single 19" tire available in the US that is actually suitable for off road use with the extra weight you have. There was a Goodyear but I wouldn't call it ideal for lots of highway driving to off road destinations and it was very...

    Another LR3 tire question

What's to "figure out" ? If they're balanced, they're fine. Do you even know how many "ounces" ? The shops are being forced to use aluminum weights now which are much bulkier so it will look like a lot more than it used to.

    RR v. LR differences?

That's the best plan for the least hassle on these. The 265/65x18 size is really very nice because it's a little bigger providing some practical advantage while also being simple for daily use, even if it's getting in parking garages with a rack on the roof.

    RR v. LR differences?

Oh, and your jeep allowed 16" wheels right? Land Rover LR3 will currently fit no smaller than 18" until someone comes out with an aftermarket 17" unless you source LR3 V6 brake set, all 4, to allow factory 17" wheels that were on some early V6 models. A guy did it and wrote up so I know it's...

    RR v. LR differences?

OME HD lift? You do know that the LR3/4 is independent front and rear plus air springs right? There is a steel spring kit to swap into but it's top end lift height is not as high as the available lift height using the air springs and it's factory system. There is almost no good reason to buy...

    RR v. LR differences?

Don't get your heart set on 33's. That's beyond the generally tested maximum even with some physical modifications. 31.5 yes, 32 maybe. Not 33. Oh, and then the spare won't fit in it's cargo floor location either. I doubt anything bigger than a 31.5 (265/65x18) will fit, deflated somewhat...

    RR v. LR differences?

Ok, what are you talking about? A VW Touareg instead of something practical? The Touareg has about as much interior space as a very small wagon. In fact, not quite as much as a Jetta Sportwagen.... I had an 08 Toaureg. Very neat vehicle, but more space in my 08 BMW 535 wagon and at least...

    RR v. LR differences?

This is basically true but in 2007 I sold my practically new Supercharged full size Range Rover and bought an LR3 simply because of it's vastly superior practical design and shape. There is no comparison really when it comes to the interior volume and its usability. The LR3 is so much better...

Switching from Alaskan pop-up to NL hardside

Pictures of the camper set-up or the wife ? Seems equally relevant to the thread as a whole for accurate perspective. Mr. "Too bad wify" Mike might change his mind Haha. Sorry, couldn't resist. I guess my mind is always in the gutter ;)

    2000 110 in the states - unobtanium?

Amen! Glad to see someone dispel the rumors and misinformation! Now, how do I get a TD5 110 !!!!! I've been in love with it since getting to peak in a nice modern one only a few years old that a Swiss couple was rolling through the US a couple years back. I'd have bought it from them on the...

    2015 Sprinter 4x4 build begins

Sportsmobile, the company, will not put the penthouse on the high-roof Sprinter. They will only put it on the low roof. That's what they told me a year ago.

    Preparations, Discovery 2

A real fridge like an ARB or similar can make the road trip and camping experience so much nicer by providing convenience for whatever you like to eat along the way. They are also efficient enough that you won't need a 2nd battery to run it if driving even just a little each day. It can just...

    Birth of My Kimberley Karavan

Thank you for the reply! I am just so impressed with the "systems" going into the Kimberly. Specifically the Kruiser 2 axle with things like: The Fibreglass shell has so much better insulation than aluminium cladding The upper "tropical" roof gives excellent added insulation to the...

    Birth of My Kimberley Karavan

Not sure if you ever considered an Airstream but in my research I've become quite surprised that they are not galvanized! Considering the cost of a new Airstream $45k - $100+ and the relatively simple process of having a facility hot dip them, why they aren't galvanized?! When I started...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

18-20 is not going to be much different than the ridiculous 15 psi on that tire size. 18" tires on wheels like these on an lr3 should not really even be lower 25 psi. 28-30 psi is plenty low depending on vehicle weight. There is not enough sidewall to make sense of such a low psi on it's very...
