Still loving the Karavan after 7 years of use. It is nice to have a Local Dealer in the US. However the drive from Denver to Ohio is to far for service/repairs. As such I have gone through the system piece by piece to understand it
I took it to Moab for a week. I had checked out everything...
those links don't work unless you are using the app. There are threads on two Karavan's for sale on this forum. One is a 2020 and another is a 2011. Page down or search and you will see them
Mine isn't for sale :)
Most of the camp sites I go to are mirror sites meaning two sites have Picnic tables on the opposite side. Even when the picnic table is behind me it doesnt cause any issues as I tend to set up my table and chairs under the awning. If I want to use the picnic table, what is a few more steps...
There use to be an option for a fridge in place of the two burner for the Karavan. From a practical view point, the inside fridge is better as you can load it and use it even with the Karavan closed up. When it is cold outside you can get something comfy from the fridge in your pj's :) I...
Thanks for your feedback. I installed and routed the exhaust and am confident with its location that it will not seep into the cab. It is outside the Frame and a few inches from the edge of the body I would have smelled it if it did and I have used it a lot since installing it. I could...
I was in the middle of Colorado two weeks ago and the temps got down below freezing. We were at about 9000 feet
The Espar D2L (High Altitude) Heater I installed worked great and kept me nice and toasty. It sipped fuel and was very quiet.
We used this remote site as basecamp for a Triple...
Mine came with a Hot water Heater that sucked. Diesel was an option, but was told Hot Water would be fine. I installed an Espar Dl2 heater myself. Two weeks ago I was in the middle of the state and it got down to 30 deg F. My heater kept the inside nice and warm at 68 degrees. The weather...
I have been a Kimberley owner for 12 years, first with a Kamper and the last 7 with a Karavan. That advice has never been uttered by the factory, Dealers, USA rep or even any Kimberley owner I know. Not sure where you heard that from
My Karavan is insulated for winter with all external piping...
For Bunk beds, the main section is 58" long and they come with 11-12" extenders. The extenders have long insertion poles so you could easily get another 1 to 2" if need be. When the extenders are in, the partially block the door so you have to turn sideways to get in and out. I only set them...
Glad to be in the few :) I have posted a few pictures but always too busy on some of the harder stuff. Although tight ledges and tight switch backs will be reserved for my Alu-Cab RTT on my roof. You have to know the terrain you are going to. I wouldn't have hesitated to take it into the...
I think the Kamper would be a great choice. Kids could sleep on mats on the queen size floor or you could get the zip on room
In all honesty, I would still be happy with the Kamper. I am not regretting upgrading when all the stars and currencies aligned, but if it didnt happen, I would still...
Specifically on the Kamper, I use to have a 2002 Kimberley Kamper. When I sold it in 2015, it still looked brand new. I would stay be happy with the Kamper. I took the Opportunity to upgrade direct from the factory (Before USA dealer) when the AUD to USD was at a sweet spot giving me a great...
I was camped near Lake Dillon this past week with my Karavan. I have 280 watts of panels. I didnt connect the anderson plug because I have never needed vehicle power, the panels do a good job. I was 100% when we got to camp. Running the heater overnight along with the fridge I was at 90% in...
yes they are
The extended awning does take a few more minutes to put up. For one thing it doesnt sit in the sail rack in a bag and that is because it is wider covering the majority of the Karavan.
extended awning
Kwik or other awnings that can stay in the bag
the advantage of the bag...
The new owner should reach out to KKOG.org with the last 4 digits of the VIN. They will ask for the chassis number which is the same thing. It is a very useful website for owners of Karavans and Kruisers
There are a few of us here as well :)
Congrats on the sale and purchase
Several tips...
