I've yet to own an 80-series; the mileage scares me away :) The power was great in the montero. Granted it was no muscle car but 215 hp/235(?) tq is pretty solid for a 4x4. I just picked up a 4Runner that I'm really liking but I do miss that extra 32 hp (and deeper axle gears) on the montero...

Mine does it, but I'd like to keep the truck together and sell it as a whole.

Cool, thanks. So it sounds like the UCAs don't add very much travel at all then.

How much travel are you guys/gals getting out of the front of a Gen 1 Frontier/Xterra with aftermarket UCAs? I'm cross shopping those with 4Runners and Tacomas and I can get travel numbers for those but I haven't found any for the Nissans yet.

I'll post it up there once I wash it. Its filthy now and looks terrible, haha. Sucks that the motor went; it was a great vehicle otherwise. I'm looking at 4Runners (96+) and Frontiers/Xterras. I almost want to get a car to stop getting terrible mileage but I know I'll regret that real quick.

Bad news: cylinder 6 is toast. Compression is at like 40 psi or so so the motor is dead. I guess the missing butterfly valve did some damage after all. I'm not really interested in a rebuild or a motor replacement so I guess its time to sell. Anyone interested?

That's what I figured. Luckily that one is one the "easy" side to access. I'm glad it wasn't one of the ones under the intake manifold.

So any ideas about the crushed spark plug? Small update, the plug I replaced it with is platinum but its not Denso or NGK. Guess we'll see how long it lasts.
