Get some cheap shop lights from your local DIY store and play with those. Stay away from strobes yet...stick with the hot lights and learn how light behaves. Get some sheets to diffuse the lights with. Get some foam core reflectors and play with how different surfaces bounce light back into...

Trek 2011 - Riverton Central Stake
Here are a few shots with the Speed Graphic from a recent trip I did with a youth church group doing a re-enactment on the Mormon Trail. At least one double-exposure...whoops! But, I kind of like it with the 'mistake'. I'll consider it a happy accident.
That Letus adapter is pretty cool actually. Big, bulky and heavy, not to mention a bit cumbersome...but it does what it does pretty well. I filmed a commercial for Harmon's last year using one and a tilt/shift Canon lens on it.

I am a strong proponent of visual story telling. It is one thing I expect my students to learn. This crop I had during this summer did an excellent job of it.

Look great man. Scans are really clean and also cleaned up. Very nice job. I wonder what film was used? Ektachrome? They all look slightly blue-ish and green-ish in an 'old Ektachrome' kind of way.
