I don't want to sound pessimistic, but that sounds a lot like the topes that are notorious for sneaking up on drivers in Latin America. Of course I have no idea how large you mean, but I just wanted to point that out.

Bump for roof rack. Added "interior measurements"...if you want to mount a RTT you have 40" of room to play with. Cut the railings off and you'd have a very low-profile, low-drag, ultralight roof rack that'd fit any size RTT. This rack is a killer deal...

1G 4runner's are great. Just be sure to ponder if you can live with 2 door vs. 4 door...I actually chose the 1st gen because of the fact that it's a 2 door. I can SQUEEZE in 5 people if I absolutely NEED to, but 99% of the time everyone will opt to ride in someone else's 4 door. It's win-win...
