    Tongue-mounted stone guards...

I can see a vinyl wrap being somewhat protective, but when I think of the thickness of the vinyls I've seen I think of decoration/advertising more than protection. I would think it would have to be thicker or more dense than what is normally used on vehicles, say like the ClearBra protective...

My yellow Jeep LJ build up

Ask and the aftermarket shall deliver, though I highly doubt anyone here will pony up the $15k conversion price on top of the cost of a JK. Even as a Toyota owner this sure makes me wish Jeep did this themselves. At least it's a good color, right rich1883...

Lets see some full size pictures...

Wow, hadn't seen one of those in forever. There's one on the list of 'Available Projects' at icon4x4 right now - http://icon4x4.com/inventory/gallery/projects/8 One way or another it should prove to be pretty spectacular beast when they are done. Also a '65 Ford Stepside on there as well -...

    Tongue-mounted stone guards...

Shade cloth, sun screen, shade screen, etc. I've wondered why they wouldn't use something more durable, like rip-stop canvas, but I guess the shade cloth is probably cheaper to replace and it is somewhat transparent. Always nice to see what's going on back there at a glance.

    Tongue-mounted stone guards...

I still like the tongue mounted style, but the Rock Tamers do look like the best bet for purchasing a finished product in our market. In my digging I ran across a thread on IH8MUD from waay back - http://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/large-q-d-mudflaps-for-trailer-gravel-protection.726738/ That...

    Tongue-mounted stone guards...

Lol. Good to hear that Paul's former beast is still slogging around somewhere. Amazing how long broken glass stays in a vehicle. I had it rattling around in the door of a VW for 10yrs. Never could get all of it out. Thanks for linking that thread. Here's Paul's post about the 'Wind Sock Mod' in...

    Tongue-mounted stone guards...

Cool, thanks for the common sense reply. The majority of my own towing life has been farm, cargo, heavy equipment, or livestock trailers, and mostly gooseneck at that. I have one trailer that might fit the ExPo mold and be a decent application for a stone guard, but it needs lots of...

    Tongue-mounted stone guards...

Why don't we see these here in the U.S.? Weight can't be a problem as these appear to be aluminum-framed with poly netting stretched over them. Aerodynamics should also be a minor consideration with them being mounted so low between the tow vehicle and trailer. And yet it seems our idea of...

    Phoenix MCU Jerry Can Holder

Nicely found, PetitFrereArmada! IIRC, while not as low-profile, the taller 24gal Rubbermaid ActionPacker also allows two cans to be covered. To the OP another roof-mounting alternative could be the BajaRack Fuel Can mount (P/N BR-FCH2-0) which is not a 'protective' as the Phoenix MCU, but fits...

Hema Maps featured in Fall 2015 ArcUser magazine...

Just got the new edition of ArcUser magazine at our office and I was immediately struck by the cover which was very ExPo-ish... On page 64 they profile Hema Maps, which was first brought to my attention by Mr. Scott Brady (of course). The article is also online -...

    GIS Professionals

I'm no GIS professional, but I have met quite a few... I was just talking to a guy the other day who is a 'GIS Professional' (Field Geologist) with a side business where he and a partner are getting into overlanding as a result. They have wrapped a Tundra and made several trips to Big...

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

x2. I think Toyota ought to add those front/rear bars to their Tacoma accessories catalog. They'd sell a ton of them.

    Blueberry Gone Wild FJ Build

Lookin' good! That's one of the most vital and underrated accessories right there... :sombrero: I keep two rolls on the back window strut at all times with one of these - http://www.offroadtrailtools.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=369 Originally made to wrap around a Jeep-sized...
