After 10+ years of service, many miles & memories it is time to let this combination go to a new home. Planning for an exciting upgrade!
$650 for the tent/rack combo. If you don't want the rack, you can pick up the tent for a special price of $650. Honestly I just need to send this on to a new...
Am I a fat weenie? Trying to complete trail 100 heading East from Dreamy Draw I got hoplessly lost. I need a GPX or Sacagawea to lead me across this thing...
I've made a mental & public committment to do this trail Duathlon (bike & run). Anyone else done it? Interested? Registration starts Nov 15th...

A few days ago I received one of those phone calls that adventurers love to answer: Epic journey, no time to plan or prepare, how fast can you pack...
I've done quite a bit of work with these guys over the years. My mouth hit the floor when I saw this on the news this weekend. The original Scottsdale Land Rover Dealership is shutting its doors next month. I'm glad it isn't the one in North Scottsdale since I still do regular work for them...
Wil had a nice thread about this earlier..
However, I'm thinking its time to address my tent rack. I've done the rattle can solution, but I'm not happy with how its working out. Repainting it is a pain since I have to mask my lights, tent, cab, etc. Plus I am getting rust in some unpaintable...
I finally picked up a Ram mount for my GPS and want to investigate where I want to install it.
I've done a little searching around but haven't found anywhere that discusses removing the textured aluminum facia around the radio. Anyone here done it?
Since adding my rack and Maggiolina in December, my Tacoma has had to suffer the humiliation of parking on my exposed driveway. My frustration peaked this week and I attacked the problem with a Sawzall...
I don't have an HOA to deal with, but I still need to find a way to smooth out the...
I used to use these radios for taking groups of newbies out on AZ trails. Here's my Expo Package Deal - $250.00 + shipping:
1-2 watt Motorola MV21CV (I used this for the trail leader)
7-1 watt Motorola MV11C
4-extra batteries
5-wall chargers
These are exactly the same as the radios found in...
I'm going to install a 12v outlet on my tent platform. I picked up a marine grade outlet but want to find some kind of sealed box to hide all the wires and make the install clean & weather proof. In my head I'm thinking of a black plastic box 2" x 2" x 4".
I've been searching for this or a...
Once a month I travel over to the local Land Rover dealership to run their introductory customer class. Today I ran into THIS VEHICLE as posted in an earlier thread: http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5572
A fun rig for sure but just a bit irritating. Apparently any clown in a...

buy a stylin' Tread Lightly! hat or t-shirt.
This is left over stock from my old business and has been sitting in my garage for quite a while. Everything is fresh, new, unworn & perfect. I'm including...
Over Christmas break I have some friends coming into Phoenix who want to do a hike in the Superstition Mountains. Any suggestions for off the beaten path trails? Looking for a great day hike without the crowd at Peralta...
Thanks!
In making the transion from Land Rovers to my Tacoma one of the toughest compromises to swallow is the decreased visibility (over the hood and in general). Being that I'm not all that tall, I figure that it might be a cool idea to raise the driver's seat. Anybody out there done this? Any pro's...
Has anyone seen or heard of mounting a hi-lift jack on the bed wall below the cab rear window? Particularly in a newer Tacoma with the composite(?) bed material?
Any other location suggestions OTHER than on bumpers?
Thanks!
Okay, I HAD to share a couple of pictures of the first family trip with my the new Tacoma and the new neice.
Camping with Mark has changed in 2 significant ways:
1. The latest mod - Baby changing station
2. He is still a photography fiend... 'cept its no longer of Sonoran landscapes...
Who knows what the proper route planning technique is for climbing a volcano? I ended up charging right up the main lava flow... really unstable and entirely unsafe! Okay, I'm looking for another excuse to post my creepy photos.

I am leaving tomorrow for just over 2 weeks of traveling south of the border. There are 4 phases of the trip:
1. Get down there. I'm going to cross in El Paso and continue on Mex 45 all the way to Guanajuto. The hope is to get this done in 2 days... So I don't plan on any diversions. It...
