@treckin
Got it. Thanks. I got the wire fished out today. Now waiting on some felt tape and Christmas tree zip ties to put the rest of the hatch harness back the way it was.
One other question, if I may.
When you picked up a power source for the camera in the new location, did you tie...
@treckin
Fantastic idea on the rear camera relocation. Can't believe I hadn't thought of that.
I'm so tired of looking at my water jugs when backing up.
Now I have a new project.
Where did you source the connectors and wire?
I second the "keep the ECUs asleep" request.
That is a definite problem when camping out of the truck.
I hadn't heard about "showroom" mode. Anybody have any details?
It happened...:)
@perkj
The battery in question. Group 24, 76AH AGM.
My shoddy dremel work. I freely admit I should not be allowed to use a dremel while unsupervised, but it works. Only trimming required was at the forward base of the tray.
I did sand down some of the "waffle board"...
Timely thread for me.
I just changed out my Group 34 yellowtop for an X2 Group 24.
It was the largest I could get into the auxiliary tray on the LR4 with just a little dremel work. No way I could have gotten a 31 in there with the second air intake on the LR4.
It's 76AH though, so a full...
I believe you are absolutely correct on the necessity of changing the brake parts to fit a 17" wheel to an LR4 5.0L.
What I have traditionally heard/read, is that it was not possible to fit an LR4 with 17" wheels due to the brake size, and some unspecified differences that would not allow v6...
17" Wheel Kit for LR4
While looking around for information on the LLAMS and possible alternatives, I came across this from Mudtech, who also makes a suspension controller somewhat similar to the LLAMS. I must say 265/70R17's in a true mud terrain tire seem pretty enticing for my LR4.
I was...
Thanks for the clarification.
I'm sure you are correct on the spacer dimension. I went over to Lucky8 and looked at the kit again. I was getting the 2.5 inches from the rods they include in the kit.
One more question. Have you had any problems or issues with the limiting straps...
@Jwestpro
Would you mind clarifying your highway/pavement setup for me? Sorry to be the slow kid in the class.
If i am following correctly, you are running the SYA 2.5" spacers with the factory height rods. This leaves the truck at factory height, but air strut pressure below "neutral"...
It is a double gun rack in place of the rear grab handles. One side holds my solar panel, other side holds an AR.
It keeps the rifle close at hand when I sleep in the back. If i want it available from the driver's seat, i just lay it along the passenger side of the center console.
I think I have tried just about all of the options except for the LLAMS.
I have come back to running on the pavement at the stock height settings. At a trailhead, I will take the 45 seconds or so needed to pop my GOE rods into the extended position. This locks the truck into the equivalent of...
You're correct, i did fail to mention my vehicle.
2012 LR4 HSE
Honestly, i went the spacer route years ago, before the Compomotives were as readily available as they seem to be now. I literally did it within a month or two of the info coming out in the Overland Journal LR4 thread...
Jwestpro,
I have enjoyed reading through this thread.
Do you plan on keeping the bump stop extension kit after your testing?
I have had the kit sitting in my garage for over a year, and am still debating on installing it.
On my LR4, I am running 275/65R18 K02's. With the air springs...
Going by the screen, mine activates quite frequently in 4lo. Much more often than i would likely engage it if I were doing it manually.
My truck goes under the knife to get its ARB front locker added sometime in the next couple of weeks.
I'm currently running 18" LR3 wheels, with 1.25" spacers as originally described in the Overland Journal LR4 build thread here.
I've recently been looking at the Compomotive wheels that are popular here.
My question for those that understand the issues better than i do, is this. Would...
Wish you guys would have been around in 2016.
I imported my own LRA tank about 2 years ago through the port of Houston.
Work, and then a flooded house from hurriane Harvey have gotten in the way of getting it fitted to the LR4.
If you guys are in contact with a shop in Texas/Ok/LA that would...
