UL Bikepacking Quilt and Sleeping bag suggestions!

I have had good luck with Enlightened Equipment, have a 20degree quilt that I have used several times, also just ordered one of their Prodigy synthetic quilts. Going to a quilt took a little bit of getting used to coming from a sleeping bag but as a person who tosses and turns while sleeping I...

Help me find a do everything 2p tent

TarpTent Scarp 2 I have had good luck with the TarpTents, had a Double Rainbow but recently went up to a Scarp 2 for a little bit more room. If you purchase both interior options and the optional crossing poles you should be pretty close to a do it all tent.

I have seen those before - pretty funny. Although I wouldn't be taking up precious beer space with apples and oranges. :)

New to GPS handheld - - Need advice

Not sure if this fits all you needs but I noticed Garmin has redesigned their eTrex. I had luck with an earlier model 5 years ago. Noticed this one because I am in the market for a simple model. http://sites.garmin.com/etrex/

Any unique age related issues in 3rd Gen 4Runners?

I have been considering a 4runner of the same vintage. The radiator "milkshake" issue and knowing when the timing belt was replaced were the two big things I came across.

    1977 Chinook Questions

Does anyone know what to look out for regarding the axles? I know about the issues other Toyota campers have but not sure if this pertains to the Chinooks. I've been looking for a Chinook but haven't found a definitive answer on this. Also if you end up passing on the Chinook would you mind...

    DeLorme PN-20 GPS $65

I have a DeLorme PN-20 GPS. Good condition. Has the owners manual and whatever software it came with. Works good but I have had issues with the USB connection which I think is pretty common on this one. Also the battery terminal has a small amount of corrosion - could be cleaned up pretty easily...

    Sub-Compact Overlander

Not sure really, maybe it is a misconception on my part. Living in Omaha and driving an FJ60 and before that a Classic Bronco I always thought that something about both of these vehicles being heavy helped them get around so well in the snow. At a point now where I am thinking of selling my...

    Sub-Compact Overlander

How are these type of vehicles (Suzuki Samurai's etc.) in the snow? Seems like being light weight would be a problem.
