Glad I could help! Pathfinder built a subframe out of 1/8" steel that mounted to the inside of the "framerails", and that's what the suspension mounted on.
The LUNCHBOX 4x4 adventure van! This is not your typical pathfinder/quigley van. This was a 2wd van that I converted to 4x4 using common 4x4 parts. The front axle is a Kingpin Dana 60 sitting on 52" chevy leaf springs, with 4.10 gears, truetrac locker, ford spindles w/dual piston brakes...
Well.... it's time to let the Lunchbox go, we're ready for something new!

We've proven it's offroad prowess and know what the old girl is capable of, so now I'm trying to make it more "camper" friendly. Time to start on the interior...
I had to cut my swivel seat bases as they were for a ford van, so we did a quick chop and weld and I installed some free chevy...
We've been doing a lot of rescues too! The jeep guys love it, no matter how deep the hole is they know I'll get em' out of it. it's nice knowing you have a wrecker wheeling with you....lol
Ran into a random quigley out in LBL one day so I HAD to take pics! No owner around though, must've...
Well, I haven't updated this thread in a while so I figured I better get on it. We've been wheeling the SNOT out of the lunchbox, upgrading and fixing as we go. I think I've got most of the mechanical gremlins worked out, she's been pretty solid lately....
I installed some 6 degree shims from...
I converted a chevy G-van, which is a unibody, and I wheel the SNOT out of it (probably harder than 99% of 4x4 vanners). I figure if this old unibody can hold up to the abuse I put it through, EITHER ONE of the newer ford OR chevy van frames will be just fine. Pick the van that suits you the...
You can download a plugin for firefox or google chrome that will allow you to see all of the pics. I put up a post somewhere in here about it, do a quick search for "photobucket fix" and it should pop up.
Go read my build thread for my van (The Lunchbox Build), it's very documented with tons of pictures, and it will give you an idea of what you're up against. Just to let you know though, 4x4 vans aren't cheap in any way. I paid $200 for my van body, then another $13k on parts, and hundreds of...
That front pathfinder axle isn't a ford axle, it's custom made by Dana corp. for Pathfinder. They are 3" wider than any of the truck axles (to match the wider REAR van axles). They used a driver side drop because the engine/trans is offset to the passenger side by a few inches, and it freed up...
There's no subframe under these, they have what looks like a full frame but it's just a couple layers of folded sheetmetal, and the body is completely welded to it (making it a unibody). They are harder to do than the fords but it really wasn't all that bad. I wheel the snot out of mine and...
It's a built 700r4 (4-speed auto) with a twin-sticked np205 hanging off of it. 35" tires and 4.10 gears. I haven't gotten into the mountains with mine yet
I've never checked my mileage, it's something I REALLY need to do though. But with the overdrive, I like to think I'm getting in the neighborhood of 10-14 out on the highway. I could be sadly mistaken though once I actually crunch some numbers....haha
