We took 30 days and had to push hard to cover both islands. Everything takes longer to get to than you think. We did 6000+ kms. I suggest not trying to see it all. But enjoy exploring a few smaller areas. And get DOC map. Great way to find campsites.
I Loved hearing you speak at the BC overland rally. You had an awesome adventure that many people can only dream of doing. I'm glad you talk about the stuff that goes wrong and didn't paint the trip like it was perfect the entire time. The rough spots often lead to best stories any ways right lol.
first gen ML320's had a full time 4x4 system with low range, great engine, awesome trans, 20-25,mpg hwy, torsion lift and spaces fit 33" easy. really comfy and lots of room inside, and suprisingly easy to work on and get parts for. ( ive got a 98)
Yea, im pretty sure Docs are on the short list. Let me know how it goes, i'll be following this post, i know your from the US but most of the immigration stuff will be pretty similar im sure.
