An interesting test for sure! Never seen the pillow tracks before, see where the idea is coming from but it makes you wonder whether the designer/manufacturer did any testing of their own!
To me it looks like there is a gap in the market. While the products on offer do fulfil some criteria none...
Hmmm, I would go with steel as there isn't a lot of material in a ladder rack so the weight saving would be fairly negligible and probably not worth the extra trouble.
As for siding it in.... never tried it and don't know anyone who has but I see no reason why it couldn't be done. If I were to...
Used to have a very simple one on my L200. Was just 1" box, two uprights and a crossbar. Was attached with a couple of screw in nuts to the plastic bed liner. It was really strong in compression but eventually failed when the load shifted from front to back. In use as a ladder/lumber rack and...
I took my test a long time ago in England and I'm way out of validity now  (it still tested morse at the time!)
My question is: If I were to take the tests again would I be able to use my UK licence when transmitting from various locations around the world or would I need to get a...
Personally I am very in favour of GPS.
Gps holds a number of advantages over paper.
1. a single gps can hold far more paper maps than you've ever seen, let alone tried to stuff in your truck!
2. if you learn its features it will make navigation in any situation easier.
3. doesn't require...
Lol, sorry I doubted it! Looks capable enough for sure, looks like an amazing trip too!
Im thinking maybe we're being too picky...
I had erred away from RTT due to expense and I liked the idea of just being able to crash out with no setting up. Looks like its going to be cheaper to buy a truck...
Interesting you say that as I (for some reason) was under the impression there was a long bed ranger. Haven't found any for sale but people don't seem to advertise bed length! Good to know to keep looking.
F250 certainly does fit the bill! Not too worried about bigger or smaller truck really but relative simplicity is important. Our 'plan' is to literally roam the world so mechanical reliability is quite important. Auto or manual isn't the end of the world but manual comes with less to go wrong...
So we know what we want to do and from that we've figured out what we want in a truck. Trouble is a truck that fits our requirements is rare as rocking horse poop. Triply so when we'll be buying it in the UK.
The main points are cab and a half or full crew cab pickup. Manual transmission...
Random and short question... anyone know the length and width of a supercab Ford F150 pickup bed? From pictures it looks long enough but looks are often deceiving!
