It's not the shipping fee that'll get you - the import duty on a truck is pretty high (unless it's a firetruck). Look at the NATO LMTV (Steyr 12M18) if you're planning to travel the world. It has a manual transmission and lockers. EXCAP does a great job of updating them.

Just out of curiosity... why are the hydraulics necessary on a U500 expedition vehicle?

The Fuso comes stock with a middle jump seat. Based on the interior dimensions, it should be possible to install a middle seat. I'm trying to find someone who's actually done it. The Earthcruiser folks recommended installing a bench seat for the two passengers.
