Great take on what watches mean to the people that wear them. A piece you might have missed is a watch being a sentimental piece, and something that initially piqued my interest in them in the first place. I currently only own one watch, a nice Oris that my wife got me as a wedding gift, while...
Springs look meaty! I went with rock auto 4 leaf spring pack for my 2012 truck. Probably doesn't ride as well off road as the raptor leafs from deaver but i'm mostly towing the boat on road, much improved for that.
Would make sense to me that the starting battery and the hybrid battery are two separate systems as they likely run two very different voltages. I'm not overly familiar with the 4xe platform but sounds like for 2024 they have integrated a charging/outlet station similar to some pick up trucks...
I don't think it has much to do with the aluminum bodies, I have a 2012 f150 before the move to aluminum and my gvwr is 7300lbs roughly, looking at 2015+ F150s with aluminum gvwr was dropped below 7000lbs and they appear to manipulate it based on configuration. Most common crew cab short (5.5)...
You likely made the right choice, IMO, if budget friendly is a concern. My current Wildpeak AT3Ws are a P rate tire and I have about 30k miles on them and only 4/32nds of tread left. I've heard some debate that LT rate ones wear better and with my move to a larger tire LTs were my only option...
Ironically I was planning to buy a set of LTX M/S2's and ended up getting another set of Falken Wildpeaks. No trouble admitting most of my driving is on paved roads, I was just planning up moving up sizes from stock and Tire Rack happened to have the Wildpeaks on sale cheaper than the Michelin's...
@McCarthy how does the tremor handle with the 6112/5100 combo vs the factory tremor suspension? I have driven a Tremor and loved it (BIL's previous truck) and I just purchased 6112/5100 for my worn out 2012 F150 hoping it ride will be able to hold a candle to the stock tremor's ride quality.
In the same "boat" wife and I bought a boat beginning of this year, didn't camp once this summer and can't tow a boat and a camper in tandem anywhere on the east coast. Looked briefly at camper vans or small class c RVs that could tow the boat and let us camp. Decided I can't justify a new...
I'd really look south and southwest, looking for a 01-06 GM SUV rust would be my biggest concern. Sounds like you are more than capable mechanically to fix any running issues but once the rust starts its a no win battle.
Very interesting to hear loaded weight for a 90s model, truly hope that the new model is as "pimp" as we expect it to be. This size truck camper really seems to be missing from market, excited to see what they come up with.
Apologies if this was already stated but Northern Lite's website states that weight is not finalized yet but they are aiming at a maximum of 1500 and focusing on keeping it as light as possible. Again please correct me if I'm wrong but it appears a lot of people are comparing previous model...
Curious if anyone has experience with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 model? Looking for tires for my truck, want to go LT275/70R18, replacing my P-metric 275/65R18s, and not finding the original LTX M/S in that size, only the newer (I assume) M/S2.
Are they as good as the original? Possibly...
If had an 8ft bed or invested in some rods that could break down i'd go that route. don't have any rods that will fit in the 5.5 bed that way, maybe on a complete diagonal but even then the roof of the cap is significantly smaller than the bed itself because how the cap tapers
I don't have a rear slider on my 2012 F150, wish i did. I have a cap (topper) on the bed (5.5 bed) as well, right now for fishing i just put the rods in the bed but for vacations after coolers and bags fill up the bed there isn't room for rods in there angled across the whole bed like they need...
Reelly want one of those Yakima rod boxes, could use the clamp style but the style could work. Mostly want something for trips to the beach or camping trips that start on the highway and end at a nice lake. Guess I should get a roof rack on my truck/cap before making that investment though...
would you go with 4.56s again or would you try 4.10s? I'm currently stock in a 2012 f150 but looking at 35s and 4.10s in the future.
For reference my truck currently has 3.55s, which can make it a bit of a dog hauling but are fine empty, 4.10s ont he 35s would equate to 3.83 with stock tires, i...
