Vehicles are rarely a good investment. So when they are, you have to take advantage of that.
Good luck with sale. Asked on market, seems on point to me!
Love the build. Looking forward to see updates on your trip. I am trying to get new wheels/tires for mine as well also going bronze. Just can’t decide which wheels.
I started cardboard templates for my rock sliders this week too!
Just recently upgraded my 2012 F150 to a 2020 2500HD with the Duramax. I love it. It’s primary purpose is pulling our TT and my tractor.
The F150 was easy. Bilstein 6100 front and 5160 rear and good tires.
I’m trying to plan what I want to do with the Sierra. Not as many suspension options...
What do your for tire pressure on your LT Load range E tires?
Unloaded - 45 front/ 40 rear
Towing over 5k lbs - 65 all around (max 85 on tire)
Off road - 15-20 range if I air down.
I am wondering if I should be more like 38f/35r unloaded.
What are you doing and how’s the ride/wear?
Learned something about the 6112s. Have a dirt to asphalt transition near by that’s always in rough shape. Hitting at 25-35mph it’s firm but the 6112 keeps everything in check. Recent decided to try to hit it at 50, smoothed out a lot! These things like speed.
I have the Bilsteins on my 12th Gen, 2012. The 5160 is great in the rear. No more bounce or side skips on washboards. It’s just a 5100 with a reservoir
The 6112 is awesome up front. The coil is the correct weight and the strut is far beefier than a 5100 or a 2”. I much prefer digressive for...
Most manufactures have this on at least a few models. It’s fairly common with ECUs today being smart enough they can adjust timing based on octane levels. So yea, most engines will respond better to better fuel, with the exception of base economy engines.
For me this is not a determining...
I really want a PW I’m thinking. Anyone ever regret getting Ram box or wish they had gotten it? It’s definitely going to be the new Olive green, but with bronze wheels. I won’t go bigger than 35s ever and probably leave stock for some time with the exception of a tune, if I can find one, and...
Those half tons that can tow the max are even more rare than one rated for only 5-7k. It’s typically a reg cab 2wd model usually an XL with no options. It’s best case scenario. Very few on lots will be even close to that. Also, once you have towed a 7k trailer with a 1/2 ton, the the same...
I’ve got to do the frame. Just no time. And I don’t worry about. In Michigan it looks like that after 1 winter. Even with 2 car washes a week. Stupid salt.
I had a similar problem. Mine were bad. So I cut them out, did a quick patch and then covered them with plastic covers so I didn’t have to worry about painting nice or the misshaped panel I welded in. It’s solid, just not pretty.
After this I sealed them up with grease and then covered...
That’s not good. I hadn’t heard that. I know the 6.4 Hemi is pretty darn reliable as is the 8 speed. Little nervous on the longevity of the 10spd. I guess I just assumed the 7.3 would be problem free since it’s going into commercial platforms.
Maybe I look at a regular Ram to and do the Thuren...
