If you're looking for an alternative, I have had the MT Deagan 38 AT on the van for about 4 mos. This last wknd we were in 1.5-2' of snow and I am very impressed! Well beyond the limits of the drivetrain and the tires just kept on going. Their prices aren't bad either.
I have the Explorer conversion electric fold down bed and have tested a few different solutions. We now have settled with the Exped Duo air mattress over the top of the bed. Super happy with the results!
I get a pretty hard clunk only when it downshifts to 1st when throttling out of a slow turn or corner. If I ease into the gas, the downshift has no clunk. I've looked at all the drivetrain mounts and universals and everything is tight.
Nice van! I have basically the same conversion van. The roof rack might have its challenges as there aren't many options for gutter mounts. The fiberglass top might support the weight if distributed properly. Wheel options are probably a little better with the 17x9.
What is the height of the mounting surface on the back of the awning? 6-8 inches? I'm attempting to fab my gutter mount brackets to fit the GM gutters.
