Took the frontier out to do skyline drive trail today. I've tried to do this trail 4times before and all 4 times mother nature got the best of me. Finally completed !! Beautiful trail.
Yes I did ! It's an extra vehicle for me and will end up being my sons first truck . Needs a paint job and some misc stuff but overall really solid... also if you're in utah offroading let me know , I may join you sometime
Now that I've had some time to go through it , I got a good list of what needs to be repaired on it . Nothing major at all
Oil pan gasket
Driver window crank *fixed*
Repaint
Tailgate handle
Headliner
Driver center cap
Radiator flush
And that's it. The clutch will likely need attention later...
Picked her up yesterday. One owner. For 206k miles , heck for even 100k miles this thing drives amazingly . Stoked. Will need a paint job. I'm thinking I'm going to diy with a high gloss single stage white. Needs a clutch prob sooner than later , but overall couldn't be happier. Let the modding...
Buying this gem on Friday. Going to be my tight trail rig /commuter , then my sons truck when he starts driving. This will keep the miles off my tundra. 1999 frontier xe 5 speed v6 205k . Super clean.
Love this truck! Just realized yours is the "model" truck for a first gen on coastal offroad website. I'm going to pickup a 99 frontier 4x4 5 speed on Friday. Pretty excited.

Forgot this wasnt exepidition Utah, the vehicle is stuck in skyline drive , us highway 6 near Tucker Utah.
Hi guys, first the car is not mine, but there is a guy that got his mazda cx5 hopelessly stuck in a snow drift atop skyline drive. Moderators if there is better place for this thread please move it. He went up when everything was still frozen and now it's a muddy mess. I was going to post on...
Was that suspension a kit or was that something you pieced together from what you found works? this was one of the areas we went last time out in southern Utah. I'm getting the itch to get out again.
Nice yeah I will be on plenty of the terrain you describe , in northern Utah and Colorado as well so that's good to know. I'm in salt lake City. Honestly what most people know as "Moab" is a small area, there is much more to the terrain than just slickrock in surrounding areas that are lesser...
Beautiful truck, what's your setup? What are your thoughts on the lid (edit: lsd not lid) vs locker vs factory ? What have your experiences been with the traction it provides? I would like to be able.to moderate trails like top of the world in Moab probably nothing much more technical than that
What do you guys think about the prospect of a 3rd gen tundra as an overlanding rig? Most of the trails I go on width/ length is not an issue as I do it in a 95 f250 longbed reg cab right now, I just have been wanting something large enough for the whole family to off-road in comfortably. I...
I had a 93 Yukon 2 door with a 3inch body lift and 35s. Fender trimming was needed but that was because I had 15x10 rims. 15x 8 I don't think would be an issue. I regeared to 4.56 as well. If you off-road on the rocks much carry junkyard halfshaft spares and get good at swapping on the trail...
This is a tire review for the full size crowd. It can be useful for others as well but is based on my experience with this tire on a 3/4 ton rig in 265/75r16 10 ply sizing.
I have had this tire for a bit over 7 months now and have just over 7000 miles on them at this point so I feel I have...
