Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Just got the pop-top back from GTRV. I love that it fits in standard garages. I leave the kitchen setup in there all the time, but if I need to take more than 5 passengers, it only takes a few minutes to swap back in the middle bucket seats. With AWD, all terrain tires, and a 2-inch lift, it...

Camper Vans with 4 Real Seats and Sleeps 4

The easiest way to do this is with a pop top. GTRV sells a turnkey Transit with seatbelts and sleeping space for 4: https://gtrv.com/photos/transit-westy/. You could also get a van that seats 4 and sleeps 2, then add a pop top.

Financing for a new van? Yikes

I'm always curious what people mean when they say this. Would you consider an investment account "cash"? Before our current economic climate, I financed two vehicles at various times. One was at 0% APR for the first 12 months. I could've paid cash if I'd sold mutual funds, but instead I just...

What is the point of Expo graphic wraps?

I realize this is a really, really old post, but my day job is as a First Amendment lawyer, and this was clearly unconstitutional. Government doesn't get to restrict your expression based on its content.

    Toyota Sienna lift

Here's my 2018 with the Traxda 2-inch kit and KO2s. I haven't really tested the limits off road, but the road handling has been PHENOMENAL. It tracks perfectly, corners well, no issues at interstate speeds in the left lane. I'm getting 22-23 mpg (actually a hair higher because the tires a...

    Camp Chair Recommendations

I'm tempted, but it seems like such a luxury item. Not because of cost, but because it's not practical as a do-everything chair. Awesome for kicking back by the fire, but not great for eating or sitting upright.

What's your favourite frying pan? Market Research

I would never use anything besides a non-stick pan while camping. They're just so much easier to clean, and you save so much water. I wipe it clean with a damp cloth and then use a disinfecting wipe. The water use is negligible, which ultimately means I get to stay out a lot longer. The only...

10L "Jerry can", 11L Dometic "Go Hydration" or Rotopax for water?

Definitely prefer Scepter. The shape packs well, and there are plenty of options for storing them on the exterior of vehicles or trailers. My MO is to fill a few Nalgenes first thing in the morning so I don't have to deal with tipping it all day. If you only have to do it once, it's not a big...

    My OVRLND build

Thanks! I find it pretty easy. I kneel on the cushion when I'm pushing it up, so I'm doing it all with my arms rather than my legs, but my back is straight. The front seems to take a lot less force than the back.

    My OVRLND build

Here's my current setup in a Ranger with a 5 foot bed. It's all pretty budget, and I wouldn't even really call it a "build," as the only thing that's really permanent are the drawers. I carpeted the walls using some cheap, adhesive, berber squares. Probably adds a tiny bit of insulation, but...

FWC for full time living on road?

If I were in your shoes, I would probably just get an old Econoline van. It will be much cheaper than a FWC, and it will have a lot more space. So much space that you won't really have to "build" out much for the interior. - Throw down some carpet - put a lofted bed frame in the back () - use...

    My OVRLND build

I love this. Other than the fact that everything fits the space and your preferences so perfectly, it also really matches the ethos of the OVRLND. It's lightweight, easy to remove, and you splurged only in the places where it really matters.

    Camp Chair Recommendations

I've had a lot of different chairs over the years, but a pair of Cliq Chairs now live in my truck full time: https://www.cliqproducts.com/products/cliq-chair It's basically a Helinox, but it has clever hardware that makes it very fast to setup. It's way too heavy for backpacking, but it's very...

    Bathing Question

Hmm. Are you sure you're not using too much? It's pretty concentrated stuff. I notice a very faint odor after, but only if i put my nose right on my skin, and it fades quickly. During, it just smells kinda like a mixture of soap and baby powder to me.
