    1990 Montero V8 project

Because this truck is turning out super nice and because I didn't already have enough to do, I pulled the 300k mile 1UZ VVT-i drivetrain in favor of a 130k mile 2UZ VVT-i that's also 8 years newer AND it's already 4WD so no adapter needed. I'll be running a Toyota transfer case now. Simplified...

    The old 1999 build thread

The mud inside was like grease and now it's everywhere, probably the worst thing about the damage. The door cave in shattered the glass, ruined the regulator and broke the door card, I had to fix the door a little bit to get me by until I could find a new door. Amazingly, after a little work...

    The old 1999 build thread

A few months ago I slid into a DEEP mud hole, made for a really slow tip. I did manage to find a boulder in the he with my passenger door and it got crushed pretty good. The worst thing was that since this was just an easy little trail I didn't have my fridge strapped in, so it fell into the...

1979 L200 (Plymouth Arrow Sport truck)

Sold this hog, went to a really good home with a Mighty Max Enthusiast. Got it running and driving pretty well and it really just didn't fit my fleet. Ever searching for that perfect combo of vehicles 🤣. I'll miss it.

Re-Greasing 95 Montero SR radiator fan clutch?

I haven't done one but the silicone oil can be bought at your local Toyota dealership, I do know that it takes a decent amount of time do drain. Your FSM should have the viscosity per your climate and volume needed. Allegedly you can buy the oil at auto zone or similar as well but I'd just get...

I think that's the most likely possibility, Bronco Sport, Blazer or similar with retro Gen 1 looks!

Built on a Triton frame with Mitsu axles and suspension, yes. Anything else, no.

Got this thing finished, made a new exhaust to replace the straight pipes the truck came with, it's more like stock now. Finally sitting on all 4 original wheels and the spare is back where it belongs, the truck is driving great and ready for new adventures. Someone reached out to me on Facebook...

How to decode my Mk1 pajero VIN?

Here's my thread, I was inputting solid data into wikipedia for easy access but some dork went and deleted the detailed specs and added a bunch of Aussie stuff but It's still better than it was and some of the basic chassis codes were left...

How to decode my Mk1 pajero VIN?

That sounds like your chassis code L040 is a Gen 1 for example. I searched for it but I had a thread on chassis codes and their meanings I was trying to get guys to contribute to and add to their signature.

    Toasty's '98 Montero Build

Been slowly chipping away at the wiring, went from tagged connectors to marked and verified connectors with individual wire ID. My friend Drew made me these labels with each wire number, color and duty printed. I got the Lexus side done last night as well. One challenge we faced was the cruise...

Nope, they're great. The only thing that might suck is if it's a 4 cylinder and has the 7.25" front diff, there aren't many locker options for it but maybe you don't ever plan on adding a locking diff.

These are DOT rated UTV radials but I agree, they will not last to the next oil change on pavement. There are some more street friendly radials that can be had in these sizes, I'm not registering this machine or really driving it on the road. My plan is to bridge the gap between overlanding and...
