    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Since my daughter needed her winter clothes, her bicycle, and a bunch of other things for her new life in Boulder, I took advantage of the occasion and did a little detour on the way back through Montezuma, CO. Fresh snow onthe trails. The nights were pretty cold. The water tanks didn't...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

In September, we went to the Ozarks. Driving up there (10 hrs) I noted that I still had the vibrations that bothered me in Colorado. Early in the trip, 70 to 75 mph was shaky. Towards the end of the trip, the vibration was much worse, even at 40 mph. I guess September is not the best time to...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Long due update. I've been struggling with the rear springs. For the "Frankenstein" set I did mixing the master leaf from the van with some high arch from an F350, didn't work. It sagged over time a lot creating a lot of vibrations. After several trials, I used a similar approach to the one I...

    1998 E150 GTRV Suspension Overhaul

This is what I did on my old 2000 e150. I liked it and it was not too expensive. Moog CC880 (Not the 880S) at the front and HD leaf springs in the rear (Sorry I do not have a part number for them, they were custom-made or better said assembled by SDTruck Springs). Keep in mind that for your...

Transit seats in a Ford E-series?

I haven't done the exact swap, but I fitted the rear seats from an Explorer using custom-made brackets. Look under the body of the van and you'll see that the placement for the seat bolts is on the cross reinforcement of the body's floor. You can see one in the top right corner of this picture...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Time to remove the laundry basket I had in the swing out (proof of concept) and replace it with something better looking. Since the aluminum box is very light-duty, I built a support frame. If I ever need to carry two spare tires, it will work for this too. Two camping chairs, a folding little...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Meet the Storm Trooper. Just a minor modification but I wanted to paint the shrouds for a long time. The full glass headlights look a lot better, but these have to option to use DOT-approved LED sealed light and they are a huge improvement. I used Duplicolor Ford Oxford White (In theory the...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Latest shenanigans. Doing the job with the wrong tool. This was a tight climb because of the tree on the driver's side. Hidden Falls Adventure Park, Texas.

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Another trip to Hidden Falls Off-road park. This time I went with my daughter and she drove a little bit. I guess I'm not the best teacher.

I consider it too, but they are too heavy, and large (probably about 25 gl. each). They are rated for 3600psi. Air compressors go to 150 psi. I have an old 10 Gal. compressor that I'll repurpose the tank and install using the CNG tanks brackets.

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Well, This is it. I'm done with the CNG tanks. After almost two years of having the possibility of running on gasoline or Compressed Natural Gas, I may have only used CNG a grand total of 6 times, and more than half of the times it was by getting out of my way to find a station. It was a good...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Hopefully, this is the end of the transmission saga. The transmission was fine, torque converter was shot. The genius that scammed me in UTAH with the rebuild used a high stall torque converter. Got an Original Rebuild from Ford. Hopefully, I'm set for a little bit. The adapter was broken too...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

*** UPDATE*** Took the transmission to a trusted shop and they opened it and checked. Tranny is OK. The metal shavings most likely came from the Torque Converter. TC that was the wrong one with the high stall.

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

I removed the transmission cover to replace the temps sensor and I found this on the magnet. some pieces the size of a small grain of rice. Transmission is out and back to a re-builder I can trust. Am I over-reacting? The torque converter that was installed is a Recon FM69. Stall torque 1900 to...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

After Glaciers, we went to Yellowstone. I love this old entrance. Being at the right place, at the right time. On the "gadget" side. Two great additions. Starlink and an Airfyer. Starlink allowed us to be in touch for work. Placed against the inside wall and with the connection on the...

    Jaleo 2- Building a 2012 E-350 4x4-Third time is the charm

Great Sumer. I joined the SORAC group on the Alpine Loop for a week. After that, went to Moab by myself, and then I picked up my wife at the airport in Kalispell, MO. From there we did Glaciers Nat'l Park, Yellowstone, Great Tetons, Rocky Mountains, ... About six weeks of exploring some of the...

The quest for the perfect van seats

It was easy. Removed the airbag and was able to drill a hole and bolt the arm rest to the seat structure. Filled the airbag room with foam.
