How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

Got to put my setup to the test on a week long trip at the beginning of the month and it was great. Well, after the first day it was. Found out the first evening that my house battery wasn't getting charged, ended up the solenoid wasn't getting the 12V signal to open up. Found a different...

How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

I purchased that crimping tool to do mine and it worked great. Have been surprised how many times I have used it on other projects in the short time I have had it.

How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

Have to agree. Not a huge savings in the long run but I ended up with better components than you get with the kits and it's all fused. Thanks, very happy with how it turned out. Couldn't have done it without evldave's original posts as well as all the responses from everyone else.

How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

That makes sense because I could tell that the was more resistance between the two posts when it was off. Thanks, I am very happy with how it turned out, took my time collecting everything and didn't rush it.

How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

Finally got around to installing my dual battery setup today based on evldave's initial design on page one. I am wondering if I have a bad solenoid because I am getting continuity between the two posts for the positive from the batteries even when the 12V trigger isn't hooked to anything...

2009 hummer H3T alpha with offroad/lux package low miles

It's a great looking truck and would to have it sitting next to my Alpha. Glad you didn't take my comment on the Lux package the wrong way, wasn't trying to call you out or anything just wanted to make sure you were accused of giving somebody the wrong info. My '06 was basically the same way...

    Hummer Picture Thread

That was the coverage of our Virginias trip this summer, was a great time. The winch mount is the DOI, DeFelice Offroad, winch bumper. I originally ran it on my '06 and transferred it to the Alpha, have been very happy with it. I got it through Trailduty.com but don't see it listed there...

    Hummer Picture Thread

Lot of great looking Hummers in there and a number I recognize. Need to get a few updated shots and have some mods I am working on but here is my '09 Alpha/Adventure. Originally had an '06 and when it looked like Hummer was done I told my dealer to get me an Alpha with everything. Of course then...

2009 hummer H3T alpha with offroad/lux package low miles

Nice truck, would love to add it to the drive way next to my '09 Alpha of the same color. Just FYI, you have some of the features of the LUX package but not leather so it's not a LUX. Good luck on the sale, being an Alpha with adventure (a must) and the aftermarket equipment such as the slate...

Show off you Laptop/Tablet/GPS mounts please

I have been running a RAM mount for the laptop for about 5 year and a little over a year ago got the mount for the iPad which was a bit more compact. This works great when I am by myself but the RAM mounts to the back of the passenger seat and takes up leg room let along could be in the line of...

Restoring the "Hummer" Brand to it's former glory! - H3 Build

I am guessing his comment was more directed at 4BT who seems to think that just because the frame is similar that the H3 is nothing more than a rebadged Colorado or Canyon. They initially started with the frame so that the H3 could be built in the same Shreveport factory.
