Canadian Forces G270 "G-Wagon" being sold surplus, first I have seen.

You’re not wrong XJ. I have a friend who is very high up in the CDN Forces (from back when we had spec forces, and he has US Ranger jump wings on his dress uniform). He said he could have one of his Sgt Majors take me out for a “drive” and gun test in one, but that there was no way they will...

Welding a cage to a hacked up Toyota Tundra truck bed - tips and ideas? Project Super Chinook

As someone who welds, and owns a custom rv buidling business, I’d love to offer some help, but your pictures offer zero clue as to what you have to work with…

Nitto Ridge Grappler vs Toyo RT Trail

Obviously my photos are in jest. It’s been super dry here for the most part, but on the daily forestry roads drives, they’ve been fantastic.

Nitto Ridge Grappler vs Toyo RT Trail

We are closing in on 4 weeks with the RT Trails. So far, so great. Not noisy, track great. We’re a bit squirmy at first but tire shop over inflated them. I dropped 5 psi (to 30) and they are now very solid on road. I have them on my ‘03 Sequoia so the E rating is a bit higher than I need at...

    NPS fines AWD owners…

I’m not a big fan of ANY organized “camping”, but occasionally suck it up and drive through a NP. Where I live, Yellowstone has been “in my way” on a couple of fishing or hunting trips, so I bite my tongue and get through as quick as I can, which is often way slower than I’d like due to “gapers”.

    NPS fines AWD owners…

I think you should test it. Go run the nearest popular “4x4 only” trail on NPS land in your Subaru on a holiday weekend and let us know what happens? 99% of ”news” is inflammatory BS.

Lee, you said it yourself. Low range and selectable transfer case.

    NPS fines AWD owners…

AWD is NOT 4WD. If you take an AWD vehicle on a NPS 4WD road, expect to be fined and more! https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news/national-park-service-will-cite-drivers-of-awd-cars-for-driving-on-4wd-only-trails/ar-AA1otL3J?cvid=47e4e28c4906411ab06bb51ce9f6afd2&ei=3

Nitto Ridge Grappler vs Toyo RT Trail

Mine have been “delayed in shipping”, but they will see dirt on day one most likely. I drive the Sequoia off pavement every day:)

Nitto Ridge Grappler vs Toyo RT Trail

I’m backing my own opinion. Just ordered a set of RT Trails in 275/70R18 to mount on the Methods on my Sequoia. They are a week or so away from landing, but I have high hopes. The Falken (pronounced like “ducken“) AT3s will be flogged. Wife and I both can’t stand them aside from the fact...

    BFG K/O 2 Versus K/O 3

My wife wanted the BFG ATs on our Sequoia and I pointed out that her love of those tires is based on the original KO. She nor I have ever driven the KO2, and as said, the new KO3 looks like an all season at best. BFG is going the wrong direction with this new AT. All the other big brands are...

Nitto Ridge Grappler vs Toyo RT Trail

I would never buy the regular RT. You can tell they are a dry country tire just by looking at them. Good thing we are discussing the RT TRAIL, not the RT. They are a COMPLETELY different tire.

Upgrading suspension, is OME worth the extra money over Bilstein?

I had OME on my UZJ100 and my N60 Surf/4Runner. The Bilsteins do ride nice, and my Sequoia sees more dirt miles than pavement (higher speed forestry roads, not crawling), but they won’t last long and again, you’re stuck buying again before they even discuss replacement under warranty.

Upgrading suspension, is OME worth the extra money over Bilstein?

By uttering these words, you eliminate Bilstein. I have 5100s on my Tundra and Sequoia and have had them on my diesel trucks as well. They offer a nice ride, but I have yet to own a set that did not crap the bed within a year or two. They will warranty them, but their warranty is questionable...

From which year did LC have the Lane assist?

My Tundra and Tacoma have it ‘19 and ‘20 respectively). I turn it off (lane control), but the adaptive cruise is phenomenal in the Tundra. I might be tempted to turn the lane departure warning back on if I were driving across the country on straight roads. Here in the mountains, it’s a...

Mortonm's 2022 Ford Bronco Black Diamond

Go with the Toyos. A far better choice in every way. I have the Falkens on my Sequoia (it came that way) and I hate them in most situations. Toyo is making the RT Trail now, and that is my likely replacement if they show up soon enough.

Looking for recommendations on a family hauler/tow rig/occasional camp vehicle

When someone says “soooooooo many”, the extended number of ooooooooos typically indicates sarcasm. That holds true in this case. 4x4 vans are not a common find.

2008 Tundra Overland Trailer Towing Advice

You will be fine with the 5.7 and a 3-4000lb trailer. Your won’t need a WD hitch either. I live in the mountains of BC and deal with lots of big passes. I also own a custom trailer company and set client tow vehicles and trailers up regularly. The 2008+ Tundras are excellent tow vehicles for...
