I love my Coleman Colorado. You will probably need to replace the Evolution material used in the tent. I stitched in 10oz canvas. Also the frame can get bounced around pretty good offroading. You may need to beef up the connections or at least carry some spare bolts for the brackets. Looks Great!
Cool report. I am an avid hunter and cultivator. Get a copy of Mushrooms Demystified by David Arora. Its a good resource for identifying species. Learn to identify the Death Cap( Amanita phalloides) and Destroying Angel (Amanita virosa). They are responsible for most fatalities. Its a good idea...
I have a 97 TJ. I have solved many issues by checking the codes.

It sounds like the crankshaft sensor. That should have put the "check engine" light on. I think.
Good luck.
I pull a Coleman Colorado with my TJ. I never worry about the hitch. Clearance was first thing I addressed for off road camping. Have fun on your trip!
I picked up a used Coleman Colorado that I am pulling with my stock 4 cylinder 1997 TJ. It has 8” rims and has very little clearance. I have seen some modifications where the axle was replaced to accept full size wheels with some enlarging of the wheel wells. I am not sure I need to go this far...
1997 TJ here. Purchased in 1996 the CEL has been on more than off, Recently I discovered that I can run the OBD and have the diagnostic codes displayed in the digital odometer display. More here...
