I used two 2" exhaust clamps (u-bolts) and a couple lengths of 3/4" x 1/8" aluminum flat stock bent to form brackets for my DIY awning. My awning is mounted to an MBRP roof rack that's made up of 2" tubing.

Currently I use two clevis/hitch pins, two lockable hitch pins, some extruded aluminum angles and square tubing to mount my RTT to the rack on my Wrangler.
The front two pins are hard to lock in place with cotter...
I've been using Amphenol circular connectors for making 12V electrical connections through the hardtop of my JK Wrangler. I have two circular connectors installed: one for a 75 Watt 12V solar panel and a second for running 12V power from my house battery to my roof top tent.

Indeed. The D250S Dual is a great product for the right application and has been serving me well for a couple of years...one year with a full-time solar panel attached.

DIY as others have done. For my shelf I used 3/4" Baltic birch plywood coated with Duplicolor bedliner and edged with aluminum c-channel. The shelf is mounted to the roll cage using: u-bolts; 1/4" aluminum plate; and 1/4" x 2" aluminum angle.
