So, I'm starting to question my decision to go with 35s. My initial thought was it would be good to match the tire size of my jeep, and provide additional clearance. Now I wounded if it was overkill. Now that the trailer is higher, I will need to raise my hitch to lessen the angle on the tongue...

Trailer Update Thought I would share the updated pics and status of my offroad trailer... its not as nice as some, but its starting to come along... New 3500lb axle, 35's on rubicon wheels... Next step, build a roof rack to mount a roof top tent... then perhaps some water, kitchen, solar...

Some additional pictures of the trailer showing the side storage and main storage areas... will end up ripping out the carpet and probably rhino line the interior.

Looks Awesome!! Thanks again for the words of advice. And it sounds like you were doing exactly what I was invisioning in my head. Leave the gear in the trailer and be able to pull away for a weekend trip at a moments notice (minus the food and misc stuff.... ice, fiancee, dogs, etc... LOL)

Absolutely! Need to get the new axle, move the fenders, and then tinker with how I want to mount an RTT. (mount directly to the top, or create an adjustable platform to raise the RTT up when in use)

Thanks for all the feedback, suggestions, and encouragement. What is the recommended length for the tongue? And with it extended, how will this change my weight displacement in the trailer? (more over the axles than the tongue? etc... ) I'll get some pics of the inside later this week. I've...

OK, just a quick update. Completed the SOA today, which gave me about another 2" inches of clearance. Unfortunetly, I could not find a store that had the correct U-bolts, so I just reused the hardware until I decide what new axle to order for the trailer. The picture below shows it with a 33"...
