I just went through the same thing a few months back... I was trying to decide between a 1500 or a 2500. After driving both I felt the 2500 was best for me. The power of the 454 is insane and even if I dont need that kind of power everyday it sure is nice to have when I do.
My buddy just lent me his welder for as long as I want as he has no place for it and NEVER uses it... So I think I am going to mess around doing some random projects then hopefully in the next few weeks I will feel comfortable enough to start mine.
Wow thanks Bartonmd!! This is exactly what I want. they look great. I am not the most skilled welder around.. I have some experience but not enough to feel confident to fabricate it myself. I do however have a buddy in Denver that might be able to make something like this for me. Thanks...
Thanks Scrib! I would love one of those. I wish they made them for mid 90's suburbans.. The one for the late 80's and early 90's is pretty sweet. I may have to go talk to these guys soon.
I am trying to get some ideas for custom bumpers for my Suburban.. Any suggestions/photos would be great. I really want to be able to mount the spare tire on the back.
Thanks
I love CO and cant see myself leaving anytime soon. On another note.... Took the suburban up on some trails and I can not believe the power this thing has! Even my wife loves it!
Has anyone tried the leveling kit on a Suburban 2500 with success? I ordered the 2 inch kit and am hoping it is easy to install as they say.. Any feedback would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
Thanks, I am pretty excited about it. I just ordered my leveling kit for the front. Should be installed before the new year. As well I am looking for a safari type roof rack. I also talked to a a guy intown about fabricating a rear bumper with a mount for the spare tire! I am hoping I can...
Super stoked about my new to me 1995 Suburban 2500 4x4. One owner, 93,000 miles and pretty flipping rad!!
Not sure if the picture loaded?? But I really am looking forward to taking the running boards off! Needs some bigger tires but overall I am pretty happy about my purchase.
I have been looking between a few Landcruisers and a few Suburbans... After lots of research I am hesitant to buy a Suburban due to all the transmission problems I've read of. Is this really a huge problem with all Suburbans? Are some years better as far transmission reliability? Any input...
Thanks everyone! I have decided to save a little bit more and buy a late 90's 80. After driving the 60 and the 91 80 I decided I will buy a late model 80 and one day buy a nie 60 to build as a second rig! Thanks again for all you input.
Now here is another question.. My wife really wants me...
