    Custom-Built Expedition Vehicle – Ford F-550 EarthRoamer Alternative – $179,000 OBO

Not sure what your point is. Many vehicles (commercial trucks, traditional RVs, other F-550-based rigs, etc.) are this big or bigger and "fit on the roads" just fine. They're not for everyone, but I don't see a need to insult the guy's rig just because it's not for you.

    Outpost Truck Campers

They offer a collapsible shower enclosure now. Indoor Shower Enclosure - $385 This collapsible shower enclosure gives you the ability to shower inside your Outpost 6.5! If you select this option we will add hooks to the ceiling of your Outpost 6.5 where the shower curtain hangs from that is...

    EarthRoamer LTX - new layout

Exactly. Spending $100K or even $50K on a rig would be unimaginable to billions of people around the world who can barely make ends meet (or simply can't). $1 million to some people is like $1K to me. It's all about perspective.

Looks great! Any pics of the inside?

    Outpost Truck Campers

I agree. Scouts are cheap and not very well thought out (mediocre electrical systems, insufficient water storage, those silly porta-ledges for bed extensions). There's a real hole in the market right now; plenty of high-end EarthRoamer-style vehicles for millionaires who want to look outdoorsy...

    Outpost Truck Campers

I dunno. Everything is SUPER TERRIFIC! Wouldn't be surprised if they were paid. Good overview of the features, though.

    Outpost Truck Campers

It ticks a lot of boxes for me, in particular a good electrical system and an induction cooktop so you don't need propane. With every option, it comes to the mid-40s, which still more affordable than many. I would put it on flatbed for more storage, which is a little tight. FYI, someone at the...

    Earthroamer sell off?

When I see big rigs on this and other sites sit for months and months, even after price drops, it really makes me want to get something smaller, cheaper, and probably much easier to unload when my adventures are over. I simply can't afford to plunk down hundreds of thousands and lose half on...

    StoryTeller Epic aka GXV Patagonia

Honestly, even if I had the money, I wouldn‘t spent it on a million-dollar (roughly, I assume) rolling fortress that can’t go a whole lot of interesting places (narrow streets, anything but wide-open trails, etc.)

    Mercedes Expedition Camper (USA registered)

Seems like a good deal at $119K and only 45,000 km. Really like the wide-open windows, assuming they seal properly. No affiliation. https://expeditionmeister.com/expedition-trucks/mercedes-truck/mercedes-expedition-camper-usa-registered-i623

    EarthCruiser Closing Doors

Not pointing fingers, just pointing out competition and market dynamics, which I think are relevant to this discussion. As I said, even if you hire someone else to build out a TC box to a high level, the camper plus whatever truck you put it on won't approach $600K.

    EarthCruiser Closing Doors

I wonder if Total Composites, et al., contributed. You can get a 8x14 box from TC and have Bear Adventure Vehicles or someone kit it out to the max (if you can't do it yourself) for a LOT less than $600K, including the chassis. Maybe it wouldn't be quite as good, but it would be close.

SOLD: 2022 RAM 3500 / Bowen Customs Camper Bed

Nice upgrades! The 2023 model only comes with a 175-watt panel and a Goal Zero Yeti 3000X, and there's an optional 75-liter fridge-freezer (which I assumed was the largest that would fit).

2023 F550 Truck brand new with Overland options $107,500

How long is the truck + Globetrekker body?

To Pop Up or not to Pop Up?

It seems like wind load is the only major con for hard-sided that people have found (other than weight). Is that right? It seems like weight could be taken care of with a bigger truck (350-450 or equivalent). As for lowing the height of a TC box, that sounds good in theory if you're a shorter...

Going from prototype to full production must not be easy for new Integrated Overland Campers

For me, an overlanding rig is about getting to interesting places and away from RV parks/highways. I want to be comfortable while I'm getting there, but I don't need a rolling palace with McMansion-level finishes. If I had $700,000, I would probably get a land yacht instead of an EarthRoamer and...

ATO AterraXL composite flatbed camper (pagoda roof)

FWIW, AT overland says you can get up to 315 Ah of lithium (website is now updated with that info), and they can add an inverter if you want one. I suppose they could mount the lagun table on the other side for better toilet access, but I forgot to ask. I wish they would update the video on...

Total Composites Slide In Camper Kits

@Victorian Where do you list the rectangular boxes (no cabover) you sell for box trucks? Curious about sizes, prices, etc., but I only see the ones for pickups on the website. (I could be blind.)
