ABSOLUTELY x2. Unfortunately, proper tuning can be complicated, and simple tuning to attain the best SWR can often cause more problems than they solve.

As an alternative, you might want to consider the OEM 80 ladder... though never available in the U.S. from Toyota, they do turn up once in a while. Doesn't interfere with the lower gate, nor lifting the upper.

Like so many things, a choice such as this comes down to the intended application for the specific truck. Fortunately, perhaps, there are not so many choices for an 80 Series Cruiser... so I went with the ARB.
