99, hp30, updated intake manifold and still the distributor setup. Getting one with the 35 is not necessarily bad as a 8.25 can be had for less than 200. The nice thing about the ABS models is the larger front joints.
Its funny you mentioned that as I was actually looking at those too. I would like a 100 as I have driven them and I know the 4.7 fairly well, but I have not driven a montero or worked on them. I will be looking at them as well especially because purchasing a 99 montero with the comparable...
Thank you everyone for the honest opinions, I am now looking for a 100 series :). I like the capability and frugality of the XJ but its not for me. With three little ones the ifs will not hamper our outings, we dont do anything just explore nowadays. I was on the fence but now I'm 100 destined...
Here is my current situation, I currently own a 99XJ AW4/4.0 and a family of five. I am at the point prior to no return with the XJ and if I decide to stick with it I will be dropping a large sum of coin on the jeep and a trailer. Here is my dilemma I know the vehicle and its drive train as...
The DRB III is a chrysler specific scanner that can test PCI BUS and individual modules, which seems is what you are in need of. A generic scanner doesn't offer nearly the options. Other than that I would start looking through trouble trees.
First of all are you using a star scan, drb (chrysler scanners) or just a generic scanner? Your issue might lie in your equipment your using to diagnose. Is it not communicating with the PCM or is it just saying there are no active codes? Could be TCM related if your using a generic scanner...
Its really hard to argue with a engine design thats been evolving for 50 years, also backed by the Toyota AW4. Secondly solid axles front and rear and the ability to run the same driveshaft front and rear really makes it sound even better. Some uni-body stiffening plates and a good designed roll...
I feel that the best thing you can do is educate yourself and your family. Say you cut yourself deep, you don't know how to patch it. So you just do the usual and apply pressure and 2 weeks later your in agony with a horrible infection. Maybe you have antibiotics maybe you don't. So just say...
A speaker or both are blown. The deck has a higher output than the stock one and would explain amplifying your problem. You should look into a powered antenna. It has a 12 volt and gronund hookup and plugs into your deck at. Reception is much better and you install it under the dash as it's...
As stated earlier sounds like the system is under pressure. Get it to a shop that knows what they are doing. I just replaced the evaporator on my XJ it was slowly leaking down and is a common problem.
Wow I have had the wrong info for a few years. I figured it was true considering messing with QC on down time and considering how in a aluminum can activated with a little H2O made it unbearable to hold. Love this place no where else could I get a chemistry lesson other than doing the legwork...
