I've had all sorts of vehicles over the yrs, but always loved rcsb Fords. Took me a while to find this gem, and I was fortunate and bought at the right time, near the beginning of the covid shutdowns. Also my JKU project in the background!

Awesome project! My 3.8 was drinking oil to the tune of 1.5 qts per wk just in daily commuting. I went the 4bt direction. Still have a ways to go with it. I love this project, and am excited to watch the progress! Curious as to what bed you're planning to use. Are you going to fab your own?

Huh... it's an interesting concept! It already has windows and doors. Even with the front clip removed, it's still aerodynamically ahead of a boxy trailer. It already has brakes and an emergency brake. I'd be curious to see what it weighs after you strip it, but like previously stated...

Any updates?

I can understand her not wanting a diesel, but I love diesels! I've done a few diesel swaps to include (3) 4bt's. With proper gearing, fluid filled mounts and sound insulation, they're great engines. I'm really excited to hear about your impressions about the R2.8.

Man, I'll be looking forward to your next installments!!! :) Thx for answering the question! Cargo space can be quite a conundrum when changing footprints, but it makes sense that what you gave up in the bed you made up for in interior space. -Andy
