What part of the RIGHT 37s don't you get? It's right there in black and white in YOUR image.

Maybe this is better. The RIGHT 37s will ALWAYS give you the ability to run less pressure unloaded than any 35.

True.

Not to point out the obvious, but you are proving my point.

Determining the "right" tire, regardless of size, requires consulting the table.
Just because you know the "right" tire, doesn't mean everyone does.
And the "right" tire for you might not necessarily be the right one for somebody else.

Like I said, in order to confirm, consult the inflation able.

It really is that simple.

Anyhow. Sorry for clogging up the thread.

Carry on.

I ran the Toyo MT’s on my Ram 2500 ctd. Really impressed with performance and overall behavior especially given they are MT’s. I replaced them with Cooper ST Maxx and have been really pleased.

I ran those coopers on my first Tacoma, great tires.

How many miles do you have now on the Coopers? How are they wearing?

I know a few peeps with heavy full size trucks that fight to get them to wear straight.

Trust me. I could care less about convincing you. It's the other guys searching for info in the future that should know that if you pick the right 37, you can run significantly lower pressure and have a much better ride. If you pick the wrong one, like the one you underlined, which would be a very poor choice for an HD truck...well then...you chose poorly. Those tires have significantly less capacity than the stock tires on any current HD truck and should never be part of a discussion about a '15 Ram 2500 as this thread is about.

The 17" rim load indexes in T&RA are a mess. Most are capped at 121 load index due to some old rules that I've been fighting for the past year without success. There are a couple of sizes one being the 37x12.50R17LT that has been grandfathered into T&RA at 124 load index. That's the tire I'm running on my 2017 RAM 2500.

For the most part, air volume is what carries the load in a tire. The bigger the balloon, the more load it can carry. If apples to apples in terms of tire construction (plies, belts, etc) and width, a taller tire carries more load than a shorter tire, and/or equal load at a lower pressure. One of the reasons there is confusion here is because T&RA (Tire and Rim Association) has some nonsense load index caps from back in the day that don't align with tire design principles.

If you are willing to go up to 18" wheels, the 37x12.50 has a 3970# rating at 65psi.

Come on man. You aren't going to win this one.

This is a good suggestion by Bayou Boy for heavier rigs to go to 18" wheel. The load indexes are not capped by T&RA therefore:

35x12.50R18LT is up to 128 load index (3970lbs) in Load Range F at 80psi.
and
37x12.50R18LT is up to 128 load index (3970lbs) in Load Range E at 65psi.

.. And there you have an example of a larger volume tire carrying the same load at a lower pressure.

Anyways... I order a thuren build it yourself kit.

2” front coils
Fox 2.0 front and rear
Thuren active rate sway bar
Thuren front track bar
Thuren steering dampener
Rear coils staying oem to keep hauling performance
And a thuren rear track bar

I have a buddy who is custom making front and rear bump stops for this truck. (DuroBumps).

Trojanman18: I like your thought process here and can vouch that the soft rear springs from Carli/Thuren do not work well at all for very loaded rigs. I currently have the Carli Backcountry 2.0 in my '17 Power Wagon which has been amazing until some recent weight (rear bumper, camper shell, decked bed storage fully loaded, etc). I am contemplating returning to OEM rear coils with AEV spacers, as much as I don't want to, to keep the lift height at about 3" all the way around over a normal 2500 (or 1" over a normal Power Wagon). What I can't confirm at this time is whether or not I will unseat the rear springs at full droop with the Fox 2.0s I have from Carli's Backcountry kit. Anyway, I'm curious to know how this setup (soft front / OE rear) will work for your 2500 in terms of highway stability even though your truck will not sit quite as high as my Wagon.

I’m running a 37x13.50r17 TOYO MT currently, I love the tires, however I don’t need a mud tire or this wide of a tire. I really wish falken or TOYO would make a heavy duty 37x12.50r17, something load range E with the load rating the 37x13.50r17 TOYO MT has. Since running these tires, I notice my truck is more stable and not as squishy feeling on bumps, plus pulling a loaded down trailer feels more stable.

Falken Tire, if your reading this please make some load range E tires in 17 inch rims, sizes 37 and hopefully a 40... you’ll sell them!

I'm reading this :). Appreciate the feedback.
We have some sizes as well as a new product coming soon you will appreciate. Stay tuned.

Stay tuned. I figure this set up is going to be best for a multi purpose rig. Fingers crossed handling improves, don’t see how it couldn’t.

Solid choice. Only thing I'd have done differently is spring for the King 2.5s. They are just a better shock all the way around, plus they are rebuildable. Did you order Fox's or King 2.0s? I don't see a rear Fox 2.0 option on Thuren's site.

I went fox up front and oem rear. I’m going to wait a couple months to have a little more money to order king 2.5. I ran full kings on my Tacoma and absolutely loved them. I’ve tossed up the idea of getting ads shocks too since they’re local, pretty close to me.

The thuren kit is in. Waiting to get assistance on the install. Normally I’d jump right on it, but three broken vertebrae are holding me back and it’s building the anticipation further ?

Oil eater.
With these heavy trucks a 50 psi max sidewall just spooks me.
I agree that the softer spring rated Carli's and Thuren's aren't stiff enough for heavily loaded high cog loads. I had some Thuren's for awhile. He recommends against it anymore for that application.
I've got KORE's VR's up front which work well with the camper on. Take it off and the KORE coils will shake your teeth loose.
