So here is my attempt at a roof rack for my 3rd gen. I have planned on using 1x1 16g, it's cheap and I have a source the whole rack will cost only $60 and my time. If I had a bender in would use round tube but I don't.

I have a Tepui Autana that I want to mount to the rack. It's mounting dimensions as I have them now on my trailer is 32" on center and 45" on center.

Here is how I will mount them to the existing rails.

I know I'm not a huge fan of the square tube but I have it so I will use it.

The 1x2 will be mounted like so for the mount point on the trailer, it will mount where my finger is.

The bottom piece of steel go inside the rails, the other rest on the top of the rail.

Decided for aesthetic purposes to cut the corners on a 45 and put a piece of 11 guage on the corner. I think it looks much better still have some grinding to do though.
