01 Sport headlight bulb coil intact. bulb going out?

The uphill battle begins
So when I polished my headlights and reinstalled, my low beam failed. High still worked. Yes I used gloves. I was having is hard tome getting the bulb to release from the wiring. Made me wonder if I had a wiring issue as the bulb was working fine before. I went to the cab and turned on the lighy. I wobbled the wired around, but no difference. Then I looked at the bulb to see if I could see it was bad. Oddly enough the coils inside were both intact. Figured I would see a disconnect if the bulb blew. So I just flicked it gently and it came on. ******? I turned it off and installed it and it still worked. The spouse took it to work and it died again at some point.

Made me think of the civics bulbs... they seem to go out all the time. Like every other oil change I'm changing another stupid bulb. In fact we have the passenger side low beam out now. However we hit a hard enough bump and it comes back on. I wiggle wiring and it makes no difference. Flick the bulb it comes on.

What is going on. Is it just cheap bulbs? I'm so over the dang bulbs. Makes me miss the old sealed beams that lasted forever. Lol!

So I'm gonna change the dang bulb, but what is the trick to get the wiring to release? I tried to push the tab, but it seems to not do anything. Do I need to pry the plastic gently with a screwdriver? I was trying to get a screw driver in there but that stupid plastic screw in piece is so in the way....
