Hey guys,

Long time lurker and have used this site as a resource for a long time. Always been a Toyota fan and my family has been through quite a few. We currently have two Tundras, two 4runners, and a Sequoia all between 01-04. So we like our early 2000's Toyota's. I Picked up a 2001 Tundra V8 4wd with 196k on the clock around a year ago for 3k. Was looking for a truck that had room to sleep in the bed, and run some forest service roads for camping and fishing. The truck did not have any maintenance history at the time so went ahead for the full refresh. Changed the timing belt/water pump, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, various pulleys, and all the fluids etc. Also, put on JBA short tube headers to fix a pretty bad exhaust leak in the manifold. Not too much as far as mods go, I am still in college (hence the budget) but ill list the few below.

-5100's all around and an add-a-leaf in the rear
-diff drop/Kartek 930 CV boots
-Camper shell and roof rack off CL
- 32” Toyo at2's

Truck currently has 213k and runs great, here's a couple pics to go along with.

Check your CV angles when you do your suspension refresh -- a diff drop is probably unnecessary. I have a couple inches in my GX470 and my CVs are very nearly flat. Nice truck!

4.30’s are less than 5% different from 4.11. Not sure why they are so coveted.

Been awhile since I posted anything here. Have been busy with school but got around to working on the truck a little bit. Picked up some 12 hole injectors off of a v6 Camry that drop in and work great with the use of an adapter. Fuel trims have been perfect and no codes have been thrown. MPG is up about 1.5 since I made the switch. Also retrofitted my headlights and safe to say it the best $200 I've spent on the truck yet.

Couple small updates:

Got rid of the stock starfish wheels and put on some Toyota steel wheels. They are 16x7 and the stock spare for first gen Tundras.
Found an ARE MX on FB marketplace and scooped it up first thing after casually looking a long time. So currently running that instead of the leer cap that I originally had on the truck. But more importantly, a couple of pictures to go along with the update...
