03 pathfinder slow build.

Well, I am back. I started a build on my old qx4 last summer, and welt didn't go anywhere. I ended up selling to a friend who needed and really wanted it, so I let it go. In the mean time I picked up a 01 4runner, which had been driven a little harder than I had liked. I played with it for a while, but just didntgethit like it as much as my previous nissans, so I sold it off and found a 03 pathfinder se. So here we go...

2003, se 115k miles.
Previous owner put blistien shocks and OME rear springs on it.. This is great, other than I have a popping, or clunking noise when going over any bump... Haven't looked into it yet, but thinking may be sway bar bushings or something of that nature. Other wise the pathfinder is very clean... Rust free, which is hard to come by I the Midwest.

Plans....

Suspension.
Repair source the "clunking" noise
Level with spacers from fleurys on npora

Tires and wheels - undecided at the moment

Roof rack - stuff. May do away with the se factory rack, as I would like to have Yakima stuff lower than on top of the factory, but we will see how that plays out. Otherwise set up for bicycle/kayak/storage box mounting options.

Some basic maint.

Needs some new front rotors/pads. And I'm sure I will come a cross more as I get some more miles.

Open to any input or suggestions! Attached is a pic showing the "rake" with the aftermarket rear suspension.

Welcome back, the noise be may your rear trailing arm links, uppers and lowers can make a lot of noise as they age. Otherwise it seems pretty clean.

Haven't had a chance to look into it, but it's gonna drive me nuts so it's first on the list along with front brakes, which is pretty easy.

I got the lift from 4x4design.com. Trying to order parts as $ allows... And hopefully find time to install them. Weather here (indiana) stinks, and I only have a small 1 car garage... Down fall of living in the city.

Ordered 2" all around. With the rear lift already on the truck I won't use the full 2" in the back.

Well, after a week of trying to track down the "clunk" noise in my truck.. I took it to the local nissan dealer I bought it from. I had been in contact with my sales person since I brought it home about the issue. Being that it is a older truck that that I purchased "as-is" I didn't expect them to do anything about the issue. My sales guy encouraged me to bring it in, so I did. After about 3 hours, they told me my truck was ready.... Not knowing what to expect, and in fear of a large dealer repair ticket I test drove after the repair. Clunk was gone. They replaced the rear shocks, and did it for FREE!! I about pooped. Needless to say they will be getting a good review from me!

Next -is front brake replacement.

Side step removal.

Also would like to tint the front two windows to match the rear..

Haven't made too much progression on the pathfinder yet... But I did tint the front windows to match the rear.. Kinda hard to tell in the pic. Not really a overland mod.

Hopefully next up will be a full brake job, lift install wheels and tires.

I just need some better weather here in indiana.

I consider it an overland mod, looks nice by the way. Definitely reduces heat, keeps your stuff safer by not allowing theives to see it, and stops that dash from cracking. I love my tint, I got limo in the back and light up front. :sombrero:

Most of this pathfinders Duty will be used as the main source of transportation to race and cycling events.. So next purchase was YAKIMA rail grab kit to make the rack I have had for many years work with the nissan factory rack.. Should be wider and stronger than the nissan bars. Width is needed for kayak trips, which usually have bikes and a cargo box too..

Roof rack is installed. I will try to get a loaded pic as well over the weekend.

Thule and Yakima stuff can be expensive.. I have been able to find most of it over time on Craigslist etc.

A it Sits I put 2 bike trays on and the Thule box. Also have the 2 bike hitch rack as well.

Haven't posted in a bit, and don't have any progress pics.

I have caught up on general maintenance.

Replaced front rotors and pads.

Fixed rear trailing arms that were "clunking"

So now I can start working on "fun" mods.. Lift/wheels/tires are next!
