04 Discovery 36K miles $15K

we made a nice offer on a 60K mile 04 Disco yesterday that was not certified. The asking price was 18K and we were ready to buy it sight unseen. They turned us down lol We offered 14K which I found to be fairly high since they are now selling around or under 10K with 50K miles but we are gunning for a 7 seater. It costs $1500 to have the seats installed but I'd rather have it right out of the factory done right

I have a 04 that I'm looking to off-load in the near future. I have a black SE (5 seat) with 61,000 miles, but is warranted through the Land Rover extended warranty until 75,000. Very nice diff guards (pig and pinion both protected by 1/4 steel) and British Atlantic sliders. General Grabber AT2's with about 80% front and 60% rear (and a side-wall patched matching spare - should be replaced). Just had head gasket, coil, spark plug wires ($340 for wires and 3.5 hours labor) and front drive shaft ($1500, replaced due to common non- serviceable u-joint wear) all replaced and the transfer case resealed. It has been used off-road (read: pin stripes, mid-sized crack in driver's side front bumper and a mildly bent rear passenger side lower quarter panel), but never abused (I'm a big believer in "As slow as possible, as fast as necessary") and it has been maintained very well. The mechanic that did the head gasket said the engine looked almost new inside. It has used oil from day one, but the dealers have told me that isn't unusual with 04's. Like I said, I have taken very good care of it, but I have used it off road so it isn't in perfect cosmetic condition. The upside is that I am willing to sell it priced accordingly. Someone will save a few grand and get a warranty to boot. A soccer mom isn't going to want it, but someone who wants it for it's intended purpose would. Let me know if you'd like photos. I might even be able to help with delivery within reason.

Just thought I'd offer,

Tyler

Hey Tyler,

We would certainly consider it but we are really looking for a 7 seater and the dealer informed me that is a $1500 install ( something I want to ensure a professional does ). It sounds like a really nice truck though and I have always enjoyed your signature - certainly a testament of the individual.

Aside from that, we would love to see some pics!

thanks for the info

Thanks, I've become fond of the my signature line too.:D
I'll wash it this weekend and and try to get a few pics to you. There is no pressure or anything, just thought I'd mention it. I am not sure if the $1500 the dealer quoted you includes the other things that usually go along with the 7 seater like the rear A/C and air suspension (not positive about that one), but I know if I were going to do the conversion I'd want those too. Especially the rear A/C. There is no air flow back there otherwise. You'd probably be better off finding a 7 seater and saving the headache.
