05 E350 6.0 problem

Hello, I have an E350 DIY sportsmobile with a 6.0 diesel. On my last adventure the tranny started locking overdrive and the torque converter around 50mph and will not slip it. It will down shift if you stomp on it or the converter will slip quickly if you left foot brake. Anyone know where I should look first for the issue? Drives great besides that.

Mileage? I had a similar problem with my 4R75 transmission and it was a ck ball in the transmission. The 5R110 is usually extremely reliable.

It's got a lot, about 223,xxx. What is a ck ball? Thanks for the welcome.

Have you checked for codes?

I have, no codes. Fluid is clean and at the right level.

The 5R110 may or May not have one. I'm not a transmission expert so I can't say. Sounds like you need to visit Ford or a good tranny repair shop.

I think you might be right. I actually work at a ford garage, we just don't see many trannys come through.....unless its in a fiesta or focus. Lots of those
