05+ Tacoma question - tire size

My dad needs new tires on his 05. What sizes fit without rubbing on the stock suspension. 4x4 DC. Thanks

265/70R16 is stock.

My 255/85R16's are GTG, only a slight rub when in reverse at full lock.

I run 265/75R16 BFG A/T with no rubbing issues on a stock suspension.

With stock rims 265/75-16's will make minor contact at full stuff, full lock. It's easily cured with very slight trimming of plastic.

If you have aftermarket rims that don't have exactly the same backspacing/width as stock, it takes a lot of trimming to clear a 265/75-16.

I run 265/75/16 on my 05. BFG AT's. I have Moto metal aftermarkets. They rub slightly up front. Lower screw hole on the outer plastic fender flare. Otherwise, I ran fine prior to my lift.

I'm pretty sure his are 245's? right now. My 01 had 265/70r16's though... Anyone else come with 245's they can remember?

I dont know that I've ever SEEN one with 245's on it...

Mine came stock with 265/70R16's though.

my stock 06 DC longbed come with 245/75/16. I think the Offroad come with 265/70/16.

245's are stock on the non-TRD models.

As others have stated, 265/75 seems to be the consensus for stock height, stock suspension 05+ Tacomas. And this size should also fit underneath the bed without any issues.

If you want the tall and skinny thing do a 235/85. They will fit without any problems and they are a 10 ply super stout tire.

His is a Sport 4x4, not the TRD. Most likely we will go with 265 70r16's or 75r16's then.
