Nice work!
How did you attach the door panels?

those black dots are screw head covers/caps, and just pre drilled holes in the panel/door and ran a sheet metal screw into the door panels. its very secure and keeps them tight so they dont rattle or squeak.

Thx for the lizard skin info!

Best price I found on swivel mount was at RV Surplus.net. $55 I believe. I did have to modify it for my bolt pattern.

Well lots of expensive work coming up soon, have had the run around with a few diesel shops from either saying one thing and not following through, or completely impossible to get a hold of without going in person. but one of my long time friends and his neighbor are both Ford Diesel mechanics who now work together in their own shop, they pull the motor instead of doing a body off job.

Getting every factory update done, EGR delete, turbo torn apart, cleaned and polished, ARP headstuds, and the heads will be sent off to be cleaned/checked for cracks and milled flat. Will be installing an EDGE CTS Insight digital guage with EGT probe, and turbo timer. And running an SCT X4 with tunes from Mike at 5Star.

While the motor is pulled, i will install the 4x4 coils i have from an F250 with hopes of about 2 1/4" lift. i am hoping to not have any major alignment issues, if i end up not being able to align it, i will likely just go with the Maxx Lift space with stock springs to level the front out and clear some 265/75s

well the saying goes if you want something done right, do it yourself. i will be tackling the EGR delete, new oil cooler, coolant filter, EGT probe and the updated factory parts install myself. skipping head studs now due to cost involved. i got the EGR delete and oil cooler kit from XPD, and the updated parts kit and coolant filter from MKM Customs. if i remeber correct, for all parts, i am just under $1000 shipped to me. i still need to purchase fuel filters, oil filters, distilled water/coolant, and oil.

No tuner yet, due to saving funds, but i can deal with the check engine light for a while.

hopefully get cracking on this install next friday morning and have it wrapped up by monday during lunch.

anyone have tips/pointers for doing this work myself?

Well i am currently tackling the EGR delete and oil cooler replacement.. getting that turbo out is a major PITA. I spent yesterday flushing the coolant out so that while working on the motor, it is only distilled water that would leak and is ready for ELC at the end.

Goal for tonight is get the intake out and everything cleaned up before oil cooler gets pulled.
looking into the intake from where the intake plenum bolted to, the EGR valve is caked up real bad, and i knocked a chunk off the size of a quarter. a little bit of oil in the intake, but no coolant, so thats good.

well i got as far getting the turbo out (Huge pain) unbolted the passenger side of the intake manifold and called it a day as i was getting frustrated, talk about 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound bag.

just about every clip has become so brittle from the heat i assume, so i may be doing some splicing soon.

i am hoping tomorrow goes a lot smoother and faster than today. if i had the option to pull the body, i would go that route in a heart beat haha.
