06 Fuso FE145 Crew Cab Tilt?

Ive been searching for solid information about tilting the cab on this truck, Ive looked at Single cab trucks and see how they pivot and it appears that my cab has the tilting hinge setup on the front but according to my owners manual it can not be tilted. Can anyone tell me what prevents it from being tilted like a single cab?

Only a few bolts prevent it being tilted on the FG647 dual cabs.

It's entirely possible but not easy as it weighs a lot, you'll need mechanical assistance to lift it once you've undone the rear bolts, the bolts between the front and back seats and check all the cables are disconnected if there's any.

Yes. it is definitely possible to tilt a dual cab, but as already stated, it is not something that can be done in a similar manner to a single cab.
I have seen one setup that used hydraulics to do this task. That user also added a similar locking mechanism at the rear to what is found on a single cab, to make the task simpler.
Sadly, I do not have any photos of that setup.

After comparing the manuals for 02-04 FE Double Cab and FG, it looks like the tilt mechanism on the double cab is limited to those components need for rotation, not for lift assist. It might be best to adopt a tilt mechanism from a single cab as it will include the omitted Anchor Lever and Torsion Bar. Even with those parts, more assist will be needed for your back and life safety. Here's an example (if the image upload works) of hydraulic cylinder position for titling a double cab on a Toyota Dyna. I'd love to see any documentation of this kind of modification on any FUSO double cab.

I’m wondering if you can place shorter stroke rams with higher weight rating in front of front wheels. May need to enforce cab frame structure front to back..?
Fire truck rams look very bulky.

Sounds like I may just have to try to tilt it and see what kind of weight it will take then figure out how to make it tilt with hydraulics. I have a 20 ton gantry crane in a warehouse I could lift the truck with but I'd definitely would rather tilt the cab. Looking into possibly repowering it with a Duramax motor and Allison transmission and also converting to 4wd this winter.
