06 TJ Rubicon, What Should I Ask For It ?

I have an 06 TJ Rubi with auto that I'm thinking about selling because I never used it . It has less than 6000 miles on it and spends its life in a garage . It has never been off road or even rained on . It looks just as it did when I drove it out of the dealers lot . It has every single option that was available at the time except hard top .
It is totally stock except Jeeperman rocker skidz, seat covers, Husky matts .
What would be a fair selling price for it ?
In case you're wondering why someone would buy a Jeep with a sticker price of 30 grand and then not use it well here's why . I bought it new in Oct. of 06 with the idea of retiring in two years and then modding and playing with my new toy . Well we all know what happened with the economy in 08 .
Retirement is a ways off now and no time for the toy .

I think you shoud ask about ten thousand for it, and I can be down this weekend to pick it up from you if you like... :D

I would start with the blue books. Do not use the "dealer" value, but someplace between that and the private party value. Honestly the moddifications you put on really will not help the price. The low miles should keep it a fairly pretty price though.

G I believe the Kelly BB would say it is would be worth around $19,000.oo I would think you could ask for that price easy enough, find someone like me who wants the body style without a mod so they can mod it themselves. That or someone who is collecting them. Put it in the barret jackson car show! haha

ood luck! You should be able to get a decent price for it though!

asking price...

Well,
I'd say 1 us dollar. Why? Since I have one of those and would happily trade it for your Ruby...:)
Sorry...still waiting for the coffee to kick in this morning...

With that low of miles, loads of factory options and very few unreversable "Mods"..I'd slap it on JeepBrokers for 25k asking price. Just think long and hard about what you are willing to part with it for and allow for negotiations...Best of luck!

I used to work with a guy who bought/fixed/sold cars on the side to pay for his hobbies. He always targeted vehicle that would sell for $1500 - $2000, and $8000 - $10000, because he could move them faster than vehicles price between those two ranges, or the higher priced vehicles.

He always had trouble selling older low mileage vehicles with high value (like the OP's jeep). He suspected that it was due to the fact that *most* people would have to finance a vehicle with a +20K price tag, and at that point, why not buy new? I'm not sure if that was the real issue or not, but it seems reasonable to me (and mirrors my own thought pattern). With a MSRP of less than $29K, a new Jeep JK Rubicon is more appealing than a 7 year old TJ Rubicon for anything over about $15K (for me . . . YMMV).

As mentioned earlier, check KBB, the local craigs list, etc. to get a feel for the market. Then price it a bit higher than you want. If it doesn't sell, you can always lower the price -- but you can't raise the price once it does sell . . . so list it on the high end. Since it doesn't sound like you are in a hurry to sell it (not a distressed sale), you have the time to find the buyer that is willing to pay . . .

I buy vehicles to sell at the dealership where I work. I have recently bought several TJ Unlimited's and Rubicons to sell. Anywhere in the Western US, that low mileage 4.0 powered classic should bring low $20's on the retail market.
